Why would Canada Immigration list their fees in US dollars?

So, since they listed as $ 16.250,00, If I show a proof in US dollar which is about $ 14,880.00, will I be fine? Also, on their website, they show application fee in the amount of $ 550.00, so do I send this amount in US dollar amount or I will have to do a exchange rate to CA dollar? What are your guys' experience?

Thanks you.

mjsantos why you have to pay $16,225? I think you need to show that you have that money on the bank and that's it, the amounts are in Canadian dollars, when my brother in law land they only ask for his bank statement, because he came from the US it was in US Dollars but because he has more than the amount they were asking they don't said anything, next day he went to the bank an open an account and online he do a balance transfer and that's it.

Peace!

I agree with cchabert. In order to pay the fee required you can use your credit card if you have one or your debit card, I bet you probably do. Buffalo will deduct the fee in canadian dollar.
Good luck

Ah ok. So, do we usually send the application and then pay on line or pay it first then send the application(for the $ 550.00)? How will they know that you are sending an application and paid on line?

If you pay online, you can print your receipt and send it with your documents.

You can pay in US dollar. I paid all my application fees/RPRF in US dollar without conversion to Canadian dollar and no issue at all. My form of payment is cashier check that I got from the bank.

The CND$16,225 is your proof of funds that will be ask by CIC later on your application as it progress.

HI

1. RPRF is diff its landing fees which you already pain during your PR process? no need to worry now for that...
2. As per chart family fees is in CAD they have given on their web site. so while doing landing as POF you have to declare amount in Any currency Rs,USD etc equally matching to CCI chart amount.

you can carry some cash for travelling , other then show them DD , or Bank stmsnts,FD stments etc
in my case i showed them only Bank stmt of USD ,and (bank stmt ,FD stmt ) in INR both currency as POF
