First of all, you must be careful with your wording. You state that you want a "visit visa for my sis to LIVE in Canada". A slip like that would be an immediate refusal. She would be coming only to VISIT not to LIVE. OK...next point, even though your sister would be staying with you, she would still be expected to have money to support herself. One of the most important issues to prove in order to get a TRV is that the visitor is well established in their home country, that they have STRONG TIES to their home that ensure the person will leave Canada before the end of the visa. That means a job, property, family, finances. Your sister will have to provide bank statements to show she has her own finances. The VO will also be looking for previous travel history as proof of establishment AND return to home country after trip.
i think what she said was "i live in Canada" so she lives in Canada not her sister to live in Canada. "she will live with me" means the sister will stay with her on her visit to Canada.

Thanks for the gentle correction, Nanaykopo....my bad! Don't know HOW I missed that as it was clearly stated that nida lives in Canada, but on the second line she states "she will live with me". I think it would be best to avoid ANY references to "living with". "Staying at my home" or "visiting me" sounds more temporary and safer.
I think she has to prove her OWN funds. Part of this is about being established at home. Having a job (get letter from boss showing she is on holiday for specific period of time and expected back to work) and savings (bank statement). Without showing those strong ties to the home country they are not going to give the visa. If there is nothing pulling her back home, what will convince the VO that she will leave?
I will have to disagree with Pippin. I have seen cases where the proof of funds are provided by the host only and not the applicant. Of course you will have to send proof of funds along with a letter promising that you will support her and explaining how you will do so. Be detailed with the amounts, like how long she will be staying and how much will be spent on food, transportation, shopping, etc.
CanV you may well be right, but if the funds have to be borrowed, doesn't it weaken the case for being established in the home country? On re-reading the post as well, I see that the proposed visit is for 6 months. How many people have employers willing to give them leave of that length? I think it is going to be a huge challenge to prove strong enough ties in this instance to convince the VO that the sister will not overstay. I don't mean to be negative, but I want nida and her sister to make their first application as solid as possible.
Pippin I agree with you, a 6 months visit may weaken their case. Where part of the ties established in the home country is employment, a 6 months vacations is normally way too long. Regarding the funds issue, if the funds are provided by her host, that does not necessarily mean they are borrowed from the host. The concern for visa office here is whether the applicant will have available the food, shelter, transportation costs, and the money he/she needs to return home.

Actually i have a 3 years old baby and i want to study... accounting for 8 months and want to work as well.
So for my baby i want to bring my sister here for that time period.
She has strong ties there she is engaged she will go back.
So can you suggest what would be the best way to write a letter of invitation.
And how do i show the proof of financial support like through bank statement, Option c form or T4 of job.

here's a question, what if your job is seasonal? Could your boss write a note stating that. That you intend on going back.

But Im pretty sure that to make your case stronger you have to provide every proof that will convinced the VO that you're going back to your homeland.
My uncle was granted a visitor visa, he was on his 2 month vacation leave. He didnt go back tho, he found an employer here and sponsored him. Now he's a Permanent Resident under the provincial nominee program. (I just want to share.. )
