Hi,

I am in the process of applying for FSWP canada visa. I am applying to apply for my visa in September this year. Will that be OK If I started to maintain my fund from September and hold in for next six months. OR should I maintain three months before I am going to apply for my visa.

Also can I maintain my fund in a FD account or it should be on my salary account.

Please advice.

Thanks you.
Viva.

- You need to maintain the fund at least from 3 months prior to application date. You may also be requested for POF in the future so plan accordingly.
- Which ever account you choose should be capable of being easily liquidated in the future. Salary account would be better than FD.

Your bonus will reflect as Salary CR in your statement and that should be fine. But if large sums are credited they will have to be justified if the VO so asks for in the future.

I say 3 moths because thats a decent amount of time period to justify savings. Could be more.

No you don't. There is no such requirement whatsoever.

You cannot apply using borrowed funds as your proof of settlement funds. Read CIC's materials on the subject. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp It says very plainly that you cannot borrow the funds.

If you don't have the necessary settlement funds yourself, you are ineligible to apply under FSW. Attempting to represent borrowed funds as your own money is a misrepresentation that will result in rejection of your application and a ban from Canada for 2 years or longer.

My grammar was not correct.

However - what I intended to say was that 3 months worth of Bank Statement would be a good indicator of personal savings under normal circumstances.

Didn't mean it as a hard and first rule.
