Wow you were really close to missing your 3 yr in 4 yr limit!ZYXWVU98 said:i have in total 60 absences (including 6 same day return US trip) adding total 351 days missing during the 4 years I applied.
If I was to guess, I say that small number of absences for long number of days is worse. That is because it means you don't have anything that really requires you to stay in Canada. Someone with a full-time job in Canada cannot leave for that long for one stretch. But someone with a full-time job can make frequent weekend trips without missing work.Yanor said:I have a simple question: According to you guys, what is more important for CIC? The number of absences or the total number of days where the applicant was absent?
Is there any difference bettween an applicant who has for instance 2 absences for a total of 300 days over the 4 year period and an applicant with 30 absences for the same total of 300 days?
Thanks.
You should be fine. I've had more trips to the US than you and I didn't have an issue.YorkFactory said:21 absences, 237 days. One absence (between when I landed and when I actually moved) is responsible for nearly half of that time.
Every trip was to the U.S. I literally have not been in any country besides Canada and the U.S. since I became a permanent resident of Canada. And hopefully they won't think I'm trying to use Canada as a way to get into the U.S. since I'm already a U.S. citizen! :
They mostly check US stamps and entrance/exits matching information they received from the States. I did not remember a few day trips but I have stated this in my application. Had no problems whatsoever. No RQed.Yanor said:I have a simple question: According to you guys, what is more important for CIC? If you are applying today it makes sense. With the new bill they will not accept any time you spent in Canada before getting your PR status.sinpguy said:I have a question.. before our PR if we missed for example 30 days, do we have to make up only 15 days after our PR time.. Cos they take it as only half day right?? Just wondering
