Got my GCMC Information Request. It's been more than 10 months since Buffalo received full docs and they haven't even started eligibility assessment.

Hello. Well, I can say you're luckier than me, my file hasn't been touch or what so ever for the 13th month upon receiving my completed documents. But I see a small light on the tunnel, just today I received and email from Buffalo CIC that they send me new file #? whew... Atleast it moved a bit, and kinda know that somewhere somehow I will reach the end of that tunnel.... But my delemma now is that in 6 mos time my workpermit will be expiring. And with the new rules from HRSD/SC it's hard to obtain a new LMO now, as the needs for my current job (nursing) is now being filled by their nationals. As per my self point of view, the Gov't is sometime being numb or unfair.... You have already a secured/guaranteed job and yet your like on the edge of a cliff hanging on what will happen to your future. Just my thoughts.

Oh. So it is. Thanks! It seems to take more time since 2nd AoR for many people than you to get their status become In Process.

Congrats although what a tough step it is. I have updated your info.

Do you know when your file was created? I received my 2nd AoR in the early September but they told me my file was created in the late March.

As far as I know it is not necessary to try best to fill your current postion with Canidian citizen or PR if you tend to extend your work permit especially PGWP.

my status is still: RVBO
According to forums, it takes approximately 4-6 months after the 2nd AOR for your status to change 'In Process'.

Mine was still RBVO & it's been like what? 14months? And just the end of the month that I noticed I got a new file #... if that's the case, no one will beat them with the super slow contest?! lols. Just being funny though..

I still have the chance to beat you... I am at 11th month of RBVO and Buffalo's reply (last week) clearly indicated that they hadn't even touched my file. So, 3 more month to go and I will be the champion!

I am in quite the dilemma, though. I was under Post Grad Work Permit that expired June 2011. I got a Temporary Work Permit that is only valid until end of June 2012 and I am still waiting on my Med requests and the rest of the PR process. If I don't get PR status before June 2012, I don't know what I'm going to have to do. I have a full-time permanent position with a financial institution up here, I am married to a Canadian since 2009 and have a Canadian-born child since July of this year…. I am living as if I am already a Canadian, other than the voting, and yet I have to worry about how I am going to support my family come next summer.

Any ideas anyone? :-[

according to what I have read, you will be granted an open work permit once your spouse's sponsorship application is approved.

Hi emjay. It seems that we have not heard you for so long time that I even don't know you have got your 2nd AoR in January this year.

Don't worry about your MR. I believe you would get your MR before that time.

2weeks after Buffalo emailed me regarding new File #.... my e-cas now is in progress..... Meaning loonngggg way to go. Kinda happy and thankful for people like me that at least I saw my e-cas from RBVO to in progress.....

We'll wqit for the next move now....

Frankly, I think it should be your turn. After all you have waited for 14 months. I am sure that it definitely surprised and pleased you. Buffalo is doing a messy job.

As reading from the recent posts in our forum, it seems the Buffalo starts transferring many applicantions to other US visa offices, like NY, Los, Detrio, etc in Spet. 2011. My understanding is that the "2nd AOR receiving time" is a key component, since most of the transferred applications got 2nd AOR in Apr. and May 2010, no matter when they submitted the applications.

A good news is some applicants got med. request just two weeks after the transferring. It's pretty fast!

Seems Buffalo is working hard to reduce the backlog and rebuild the reputation. It used to be the fastest VO in the world.

which means for most of the people in this thread, the waiting time would be another 8--12 months before their files would be transferred to other VO?

I hope you are right. Buffalo could process the backlog increasingly fast. CIC should do what they have promised.
