post your landing in Canada, when you land in UK, it will be alright.

1 .You don't need to show your PR card for entry in UK.
2. You have a single entry valid Canada visa sticker in your passport so when you land in UK in case they ask you can prove your trip was legitimate.

I don't see any issue in this.

You will need your PR card (In India) when you plan to go to Canada again as you would have used your single entry visa and without PR card it will be difficult to convince Indian immigration officers about your legal status in Canada.

Well, while going back from India, one can apply for a single-use travel document from the embassy (on the grounds that they have not yet received a PR card) which is pretty much valid and convincing!

This is possible isn't it?

You have to get it from Canada before moving out of Canada, thats what canadian law says.

Yes without a PR card you will always need a Travel Document.

Well, no. Travel document is issued by Canadian Embassy in a foreign country from what I know.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/travel-document/index.asp

Okay, now, from the link provided by OP, I can see that the problem starts when the person wants to fly through London, UK. Without a valid PR card or a Visa, the BA personnel will not allow the OP to board the flight in the first place.

So, all I can suggest is try some other connection. Fly through Amsterdam as someone mentioned in the link that @vicky1210 provided. Do not take the risk!

This is very stupid. If the people who made the law in UK had a brain, they would have realized that a person would NOT stay in UK and depart to India because HE HAS AN INDIAN PASSPORT. Why do they need a "valid" US/Canada Visa/PR card while going to India (from US/Canada) through UK? Bunch of idiots.

So, @vicky, I suggest you to take some other route (not through UK or Germany). If you could ask someone from Canada to mail you the PR card to India (use reliable courier service like FedEx), it would be better! Otherwise, apply for a one-time travel document before boarding your return flight to Canada!

GOOD LUCK !
Hi Everyone,

Just to update, I have been on the forum regularly now. WVO has issued a few PPRs on Monday 23/11/2015, as ppl mentioned on this forum. After that nothing, no more PPRs issued through out this week. Is this how it works? PPRs issued only on 01 day in a week and the rest of the days no movement what so ever.

When one goes to check the timeline for Visa issuance on the CIC website, it still shows 11 months processing time for people applying from New Delhi, India. Whereas the fact of the matter is that in this forum itself there are so many people who had applied more than 11 months back. There is no clarity whatsoever about the procedures being followed or the timelines being followed by WVO. Being regular on this forum one knows more about what's going on at WVO than asking immigration consultants as they also don't seem to have any clue of what's going on and how much time is being taken for the entire process.

Would once again request everyone to be regular on this forum and provide updates as and when there is any movement at anyone's end.

Hoping that this wait comes to an end at the earliest and wishing everyone all the very best for the next step.

God Bless !!

Where is it mentioned that Travel document issued by Canadian Embassy in a foreign country only.
Determine your eligibility

You can apply for a permanent resident travel document if you:

are a permanent resident outside Canada
are planning to return to Canada by airplane, boat, train or bus, and
do not have documents (valid PR card) showing your permanent resident status.

A travel document is normally only valid for one single entry. If you will need a travel document for more than one entry to Canada, your application should include a letter explaining why you need multiple entries. You should apply for a new PR card as soon as you resume residence in Canada.

Highlighted in RED above! It says "are a permanent resident OUTSIDE Canada". So, I assume that people who are a PR, currently outside Canada AND who DO NOT have a PR card can apply for a travel document! Feel free to let me know if you think otherwise!

Yes my friend,
your assumption is correct

Here is the link which says you cant apply if you are inside Canada.

Thanks for the link!

So, in conclusion, one cannot apply for a travel document while INSIDE Canada! One can only apply for a PR card when inside Canada. If a PR of Canada has traveled abroad WITHOUT a PR card, then, S/he MUST apply for a travel document from a Canadian Embassy/Consulate in the foreign country!

Thanks!
