I second what you have mentioned here Niravedash,

Oct till Feb is not the right time to migrate as they have lot of holidays and finding jobs becomes tough. My sister is a Canadian Citizen and she advised the same thing. I will plan to migrate by March 2016 only.

One has to keep his previous experience and profile aside once you land in Canada and search for a "survival job" asap. It is only after getting Canadian experience and qualifications that one can get better jobs. Exceptions are always there but this is the general trend. I have lot of friends who have done this.

One has to be strong willed and determined to succeed.

Cheers
I hardly understand this ???Why do I need to keep my current expertise and experience aside while I go to Canada ,I am no cheap labor so that can use me the way they want ,I have expertise in something ,I love what I do and I have a belief that they will be benefited .Just to clear the misunderstanding, this is no pride I am showing but I know your past experiences and expertise never go in vain especially if you have lived them ...

This was just for people who really love something and have worked hard for it ...No Hard feelings brother but I will do my best not keeping my expertise aside and do anything to get a job which I like to do ...If Canada doesn't need my expertise then they shouldn't have defined an NOC for me where they required skilled workers for that NOC ,Least case if they don't have a job for me according to my NOC ,I am happy with what I am doing...

It is a pleasure.... Do check out the benefit finder link I have in there ..... it is a great resource by the government for all over Canada.... And when I came here I was surprised to find that even the settlement agencies did not know about it.

Dear samfswquery,

Don't worry I haven't taken it personally but it seems that you have.

All-though all of us look forward to a better life and prospects when we land in Canada, we should also know the pitfalls, I think than, we can prepare ourselves better.

My post should be read under the heading "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst"

I also mentioned in my post that there are always exceptions.

I myself have 16+ years of experience in my field and would like nothing better to get a job in my field as soon as I land, but if that does not happen, I want to be prepared.

My comments are also based on the experience of 6/7 ppl who have been settled in Canada for the past 5 to 10 years (including my sister).

I hope and pray for the best for you, for myself and for all the forumites in their new lives in Canada.

Cheers.
