Now you can open a Canadian bank account in Scotiabank from India itself.
Check the website of Scotiabank Canada website..

Its called StartRight
http://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/0,,4302,00.html

Scotia Bank has tied up with Kotak Mahindra Bank in India.

- Kotak Bank will open both NRI and NRO account in India after u get your COPR and Visa
- Scotia Bank will open Savings account in Canada, You will get confirmation mail from them. You can then transfer funds from India to that account in Canada and access these funds once u r in canada
- You need to visit the branch of Scotia Bank one u land in canada to get your account activated.

I have got the ppr, still there are only 3 lines in the second page of E-cas. I don't think its a matter of concern. If its a Decision Made on the first page than surely one will receive a ppr. After TLU if there is a case of REJECTION it will not be direct. They will send a "fairness letter" and gives a time period to respond and after that only they will make a final call. So if after TLU one receives DM without a fairness letter that means PPR is on the way.

Well done Ahmed! thanks for sharing valuable information.

Cheers,

Hello there,

I would like to share an info.

There was a change in my employment and address, so I sent an email to update WVO
as suggested by one of our forumite (Ahmedmud) and asked them to confirm whether
they have received all my docs and PCCs on Thursday midnight IST.

I am not sure but I believe that the response I got on Saturday was an update in ecas
status from 'in-process" to "DM" is linked to my email.

Any similar experiences by other members of this forumites?

Cheers,

Hey bro,, I don't think so.. As per your timeline you're DM was due. I think it was just a coincidence that you got your DM within few days of your email. Whatever it might be, I hope the end shall be positive for all of us who are waiting.

Seems no DM/PPR today as yet!!!!
