Hi,

My VO was New Delhi. But my application was transferred to Warsaw for processing & I got PPR e-mail from Warsaw, and they asked me to submit the passport in New Delhi. As I live in the UAE, I have submitted my passport to Abudhabi VO though VFS Dubai & now waiting to get it stamped. According to Abudhabi VO, we can submit passport in any VO without additional confirmation from embassy/CIC. I checked it with VFS Dubai as well, and they said it's acceptable. How ever, there shall be some conditions if you submit the passport to different VO other than mentioned in your PPR. For example, Abudhabi VO will accept the passport, if we are here on a residence/work visa. But they won't if we are here on a short term visa such as tourist visa.

Check directly with VFS in Kuala Lumpur (if any) about submitting the passport there. Most likely it should be OK.

Best wishes,

Arun

VFS normally give an acknowledgement slip.

Hello all,

This post could be irritating while you are all waiting for your PPR but I thought of sharing my experiences for those who have already reached stage 4.

Most of you can see my time-lines on the left side. I am currently in Ottawa, Canada and its been 45 days in Canada and found a job in Ottawa itself after 40 days. Weather is good here as summer has started.

Most of you have been thinking that many active forum members became inactive once they got their visa or landed in Canada. It is not deliberately done but things will change suddenly once you start packing the things and land in Canada. Its a completely different world where you need be very strong in embracing the change, culture and things around you.

Here are few things I'd suggest you to do some ground work for the people who are aspiring to land in coming months

1/ goto canada job sites like indeed.ca, workopolis, monster and try to find jobs which match your skillset.
2/ Do not apply to any one of them. Try to understand what exactly they are asking in the job description
3/ Do some work in understanding the things they've asked in the job. Try to learn them before hand. Online / youtube will work
4/ Try to find resume online. I'd suggest indeed.ca to find existing resumes
5/ Research everything. Try to take notes for the every job you see. List down everything you know or don't know
6/ Create LinkedIn profile and try to connect canadian recuiters/headhunters. search for companies like procom, quantum, randstad, hays, adecco etc..Send emails via linkedin to recruiters that you would be available soon and try to get connected.

I hope this helps for certain individuals to get a kick start.

Once you are here start attending workshops / meeting new people to find the hidden jobs. It would certainly take few weeks to months to get a first job. Getting a job is NOT impossible and everybody gets settled here in Canada.

I will post whatever I find useful to this community whenever I find time but I wont be far away from you all.

All the best.
