Lets hope for the best

I researched through a lot of forums and websites and found the following information.

Background checks comprises of the following stages

1. Document verification: Determining the credibility of the documents provided. Time frame 2-6 months

2. Criminality checks: Verified through PCC provided for any form of charges including Driving offences but does not include any Credit checks or credit history checks or credit defaults. Time frame varies according to countries. People with considerable travel history face delays.

3. Security checks: Checks conducted by CSIS on behalf of CIC to screen applicants for any affiliation to terrorist groups, direct or indirect involvement in any form of crime against humanity or genocide. They also check for any aliases used in the past, especially for people with change in the given names. This may be done through various agencies like Interpol and the FBI. Time frame 12-15 days post request from CIC. If any red flags appear, it may prolong to around 6 months. Applicants from certain countries face delays, when such countries are deemed to be politically and lawfully unstable.

I hope the info is useful.

Oh no. They are not order specific. They normally complete document verification, Meds and criminality first. Thats the reason you get medical and PCC request together for Medicals and Criminality. Then they start with the Security checks. Post security checks, if all is well PPR is issued.

Hi Guys,

My timelines are on the left. I am planning to put my papers at the current employer by the end of this month. I am still awaiting the DM and PPR. Is it ok to resign as I need to give 2 months of notice after I resign.

Also, is there any case of rejection after the TLU so far ?

Normally, how long does it take for the DM / PPR after all the documents have been submitted ? Does it go in the employment background checks at this stage ?

How long does it take for the security clearance as I have worked in 3 countries for which I have already submitted the PCC.

I am now worried, looking at the standstill status of DM / PPR.

Seniors please advise.

Regards,

Just to correct you my friend. The following is the excerpt from the actual news.

"Warsaw, Poland: A cyber attack against Polish flagship carrier LOT grounded more than 1,400 passengers at Warsaw's Frederic Chopin Airport on Sunday in what an airline spokesman described as the "first attack of its kind".
The attack occurred at around 4:00 pm (1500 GMT), and targeted the airline's ground operations system, the carrier said in a statement."

The following is link:

There is no indication or relation to the CIC processing.

Kindly forward the link, if possible

Regards,

I suggest to not resign till you receive your DM/ PPR, just to be on a safer side.

We all are in a similar situation. Trust me, you will be more frustrated sitting at home and doing nothing but checking your ECAS, forum and other things.

So sum up, just do yourself a favour by working till you get the COPR.

Best wishes

Hi

I have travelled to Dubai on work visa long time back. Is Dubai considered as politically or lawfully unstable country ? Is it going to prolong my PPR ?
