One of my frnd also applied under FSWP ...his passport got damaged due spill over of tea upon it... he is at the stage of SLU but no medicals have been generated... what should he do now...should he reapply ASAP... and what is the procedure to inform CIC
and will it affect his processing time and decision outcome (i mean strong back ground checks)

Help required on urgent basis... pls help...

Damage to passport is rare but happens accidentally...

So not to worry, let him first send out an email to his Visa Office and intimate the same and then raise a new passport in tatkal and keep the visa office informed again once done with new passport number.

And also during medicals, they ask the following questions like change in address, family, etc. He can respond back with the new passport.
While sending RPRF, PCC, passport pages etc.. He can attach old and new passport pages as a proof. This will save lot of his time later on.

Else renewing the passport after Medicals at the time of PPR will cause lot of confusion...

PS: New passport will carry old passport number(cancelled) as a reference. So its fine!

Yes, he should get it renewed asap. raise CSE with a scan copy of all the pages of the renewed passport. processing won't be affected.

Getting a new passport will not take more than 2 weeks,,, even if does not apply in tatkaal

Dear all,

What I feel is that our files are pending because warsaw office might be waiting to get go ahead from delhi VO because delhi VO might be busy in issuuing visas to peoples who have applied in the the monyh of September and October. Once warsaw vo will get green aignal from delhi Vo then only they will send the ppr/dm to all the pending files.
