Hello Guys ,

Need a suggestion ,Is there anything wrong if I write to my Visa Officer and straightaway ask ,what is the current status of my application and when can I expect Passport Request?

Once you get MR, the assessment on your file is done by that Visa Officer, it moves to the next step, and the same visa officer will not check your file again. Imagine if same visa officer is checking the files again, then who will assess the files of other applicants who are waiting for MR.

Thank you Ahmedmud.... will be doing the same
If some one can help me on one more area.. If i postpone the medical now as we are expecting a baby. How much time the processing will be delayed

FYI... It will be the same visa officer...unless transferred to another visa office. Second officer is involved if the case requires positive/negative evaluation, but the owner will be the primary visa officer.

Thank you very much Alok!!!. Will do it via VFS then..
Its not only about safety. The main problem is that if you send via courier u are able to track it till it reaches the embassy. The passport after visa stamping will be returned in courier which u would not be able to track.
But VFS allows both side tracking. Always Better.

From which resource did you get that information, that VO officer will be same?

If the VO is same, and if he checks the same files time and again, there are hundreds waiting for MR. It will take years for them to get their MR........

Nevertheless, it's all assumptions what you and I have, no one knows the reality.......

Regards.

the official turnaround time for WVO is 34 months( for NVO its 12 ) ... that like forever wait ..... tomorrow my three months gonna complete waiting MR ....

I have JM in my MR.
MR rcvd on 09/05/2015
TLU 01/06/2015
How long to wait for PPR again?
Appreciate your suggestion for some relief..
:)
Hoping for the best.

It is not an assumption, the source is federal court documents. I reviewed many cases filed against CIC, for delays in processing, the case officer is responsible for the decision. Also, are you familiar with the NBF (next brought forward) date? Once, the NBF is set, the visa officer will not review the file until that date, I guess this gives him the bandwidth to review other files.

Guys we need to be patient here, i know its tough but that is the only option we have got. I was going through other threads and was surprised to see that majority of august & Sept and in few cases july applicants of SGO (Singapore),, MVO (Manila),, LVO (London),,AVO (Accra) are still waiting for MR's and in some cases even SLU's... I feel that we are lucky enough that majority of WVO applicants are at PPR stage.. At times i was getting frustrated by there style of work but seeing other VO's i feel thankful now..Lets be together, pray and hope that we all reach our final stages...

I fully agree with staind.. Even i was going through documents posted on CIC website regarding the processing flow of files, its quite clear that once a visa officer is assigned for a file he/she will only be responsible of it till the final decision is made... And as staind explained there is a next brought forward date for each file that gives him/her time to parallel review files even if they are at different stages.. Moreover visa officer's have enough staff under them for assistance throughout the life cycle of the application...

That is correct, the officers will have Program Assistants under them for managing the administrative tasks (normally the local hires), these program assistants (in our case Economic Unit Program Assistants) are not responsible for selection decisions but handle tasks such as determining if the candidates meet the selection criteria (minimum points). Here is the link to the federal court decisions, if anyone is interested.
http://decisions.fct-cf.gc.ca/fc-cf/en/nav.do

There are some interesting precedent cases that provide a glimpse of the CIC processes. It is legal verbiage, requires a lot of patience to read!!!
