Fellow 2014 FSW aspirants & Seniors,

Though my original birth certificate (issued by city corporation) is in English, but doesn't have my name on it.
So I had one issued from the Indian Consulate at New York. The new birth certificate says that as per my passport information I was born on xx.xx.xxxx.

Will this be a valid document to submit as the birth certificate?
Has any one already submitted birth certificates issued by Indian consulate & was approved by CIC?

Thanks.

Don't know about that, but people not having proper birth certificates have been submitting secondary school certificates bearing one's name, parent(s)name and date of birth.

Heard that nowadays CIC is not accepting this. They accept SSLC (10th std.) certificate with date of birth and parents name on it.

@ttrajan

Thanks for the reply.
When you said "nowadays CIC is not accepting this" - Were you referring to the birth certificate issued by Indian Consulate.

My original birth certificate has all information but my name!!
I have the 10th mark sheet from matriculation board & there is no mention of my parents name.

What else I can use for birth certificate.

I value your suggestion. Pls help..

Thanks.

Your parents can make affidavite for your date of birth. Check with some Notary Public Lawyer in India. My SSLC certicate got my parents name, hence CIC accepted it.

That's it sir, fantastic advice. Affidavit of birth attested by your either of your parents will work, it's been accepted by CIC for FSW 2014 as reported by forum members. Cheers

I have a date of birth issue. I am the primary applicant and have points to qualify alone and have valid date of birth certificate. My Wife' is not having date of birth certificate but is having a valid SSLC (secondary school certificate) with date of birth (also in words) and both parents name.

Last week my consultant called me and said they received a lot of applications returned back due to lack of birth certificate, but affidavit. Would this be absolutely true or would it be because of some other reasons?

Getting date of birth certificate is not an option any more in limited time. Here are my options.

1. Get an affidavit from both the parents and keep this along with the SSLC certificate.
2. Apply currently only for me and apply for wife later. Any issues here?

What would be the suggestion?

I have sumitted my SSLC certificate with DOB and parents names. It was accepted by CIC.
Better to apply PR together for full family.
