my passport will expire on May 02,2016, currently waiting for my PPR, medical results forwarded to CEM on Jan. 29,2015, need ko po bang irenew yung passport ko while waiting for PPR? In case my PPR will appear, and considering that I renewed my passport, can I send my present passport to CEM for Visa stamping while waiting for my renewed passport?

For those who have there Visa's already or is already in Canada, how did you move your funds there or if you are about to migrate already, does anyone have any idea how to go about it?

I know there is no problem bringing more than 10,000 dollars to Canada. But the problem is with Manila customs and immigration, because per ruling you are only allowed to bring outside Philippines $10K max, has anyone experience declaring it at Manila, where you taxed, harassed? or can someone suggest how to transfer it without bringing the funds on hand? Thanks.

Also, FYI, upon landing to Canada you have to bring or show Canada immigration the fund requirement for your family size, (eg. for family of 4 CAD$21,971).

Hello po! Were you able to get a response from anyone re your query. I have the same question po. Parang naguguluhan din ako sa Scotia Bank Start right program because per BDO they cannot wire transfer money that you bought from them. They sold us CAD tapos sila lang ang bank namin so sila na rin sana mag-facilitate ng wire transfer but that's not possible according to the manager.

Tanong lng po, mgsi-send po kc ko ng bank draft & PCC sa CEM, can I include na din po ba ung personal details na nirerequire nla or should I send this separately through email? Sbi kc sa letter nla all requested docs should be sent as an email except sa nirerequire nla na original. Iniisip ko kc isubmit ko n lng hard copy since magpapa-courier nman ako para isahan na lng. Ok lng po kaya?

@ sharingan_rn...thanks sa info..will cancel our sked since more than 6 months pa validity ng sa amin....read somewhere kasi na dapat more than 1 year dapat validity for visa issuance..

@ manila_kbj.. ask ko lang po nung nag renew ka before MR ilang months na lang validity ng passport mo?

Nag renew ako before medicals, 1 year pa validity nung nagrenew pero at the time of medicals, 7 months na lang.

Hi Cykaraky! Better to renew your passport now. 2 weeks lang naman ang passport renewal vs 30 days na binibigay ni CEM to submit passports.

Mahirap kasi na baka abutan ka ng 6 month validity for travelling saka ang ibibigay lang ng CEM is 1 year validity from your medical exam. So kung January ka nag pa medical, January 2016 ang VISA expiry mo pero since mag e-expire ng May 2016 yung passport baka ang ibigay sayo is less than 1 year. Baka magahol ka sa preparation etc.

You cannot give your present passport to CEM kasi bubutasan na ng DFA yung old mo. Hindi mo na siya magagamit. Di puwede more than 1 ang passport
