FSW2014 Old Application Forms used - Lets network here.....

All those FSW2014 applicants who have used OLD application forms, can use this thread and help each other out and keep each other updated on any new findings wrt the probable impact of using the old forms and also suggest any remedies.

All applicants whose package was received at CIC after 17/Jun/2014 may or may not be affected by this update.

We really hope that CIC does not consider using the below listed old forms as a reason enough for rejection as changes are minor and as per our analysis should not impact the processing of the application.

I am August 4th FSW applicant. I just realised that i had sent the old generic application form (this was changed somewhere on 17th or 18th June). I had downloaded this form on 15/Jun/2014. However by the time i could send out my package it was signed as on August 4th and received at CIC on 8/Aug/2014. Now I am not sure if this is acceptable by CIC or not.

In the "Generic Application Form" I could spot two main differences as stated below:
1. Under heading "LANGUAGE DETAIL", Question No. 3 is added for both principal applicant and Spouse, which was not present in the older form.
- Have you taken a test from a designated testing agency to access your proficiency in English or French ?
2. Under "Consent and Declaration of Applicant" and new consent question is added. (This i think should not impact my application... As the answer can also be No)
- Do you consent to be contacted by CIC, or an organization at CIC's request, in the future ?

I believe there are some more differences in the dependent child section, but that form doesn't get generated for us as it's not applicable...

i just now had a conversation with my consultant...he said me...if the form is much older then their is a chance of creating problem by the CIC...1 0r 2 months old will does not create any problem...he said me not to worry..he is a gud consultant ..one of my frnd who already in Canada recommended him..so i m going to rely on him..lets see what happen...Mine was the older version of March 2014...nd my application received date was 22th july..

I too have asked seniors this question again and again and everybody says it's ok, especially coz the extra question is already present in the schedule 3 form. Hoping for the best ;D

I too have sent them a mail, and will update if and when I get a reply from them.

I called CIC also, but I found the agent not at all helpful and he seems to not have much knowledge. He just gave me scripted answers like.. It may or may not be accepted, and you will come to know , when CIC returns the package or send you PER... What a waste of a call.. Anyways I wasn't expecting much from the call, just wanted to rule it out... Sigh!! :'(

The agent is really polite and patient, but the answer is not helpful at all....

Yup agreed. I believe they are not in a position to answer them now, as they have not yet reached application beyond June 18th, to assess if this impacts or not.

naticom, did you also use old forms? When was your application received at CIC?

In my opinion, they might have some window period. only beyond that period, they will stop considering the applications. How come they refuse applications reached on 19th and 20th which were posted on 17th, and 18th....?

Vande Matram , you are right, there should be a window gap. According to above post by Sam, his consultant has mentioned gap of 1-2 months should be pardoned.

I believe your application was sent to CIC on 18th June? Correct me if i am wrong? If yes, i think you are in the safe zone. Also i had seen some posts in the forum, that they had again updated the app on 18th June, as there was some problem in the app that was uploaded on 17th (Printing issue etc) Refer link: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t221141.0.html

The other rationales are:
1. There was no news bulletin or update from CIC when they changed the application. If it was that damaging i think there should definitely have been a mention of it in the footer of the applications.
2. The changes that we do see , are very minor and one of these questions are already repeated in the Schedule 3 form.

However, we are vulnerable to what will be their decisions. So we have to wait and watch and keep each other updated on their findings.

Thanks Saps for providing a bit of relief.....
But what making me uncomfortable is we cant question CIC for anything.... We are on their mercy

I am one of the unfortunate few, who downloaded my forms on 15/June/14 and sent my application on 4/Aug/14
