Need some help, planning to go by British Airways as can get the tickets for 4 person at Rs. 170k. BA sale is on till 31st Jan.
Have to transit London, do we require to take transit visa ?
For carrying POF can we carry traveler card, instead of DD ?
Where to live in Vancouver and how to find a decent 2 bhk apartment ?

Any traveller having valid visa to US or Canada doesn't need transit visa for UK. You may still like to confirm with your travel agent to be doubly sure.

As far as proof of funds is concerned, no one specifically wants to see the funds, only asked how much and in what form? There have been examples where some immigration officers asked for proof as well. I would rather avoid carrying travel cards unless we are ready to take chance and trying to carry less money than we are expected. Also, you may want to check if the conversion rates you are getting for travel card and DD are same or more or less and then make a decision.

Finding a 2 BHK apartment or house could be little tricky depending on your choice of area. If you have some known ones, friend/relatives, definitely prefer to live close to them. Initial few weeks demand some support from people known to you. If there is no one known, prefer the area near to where you can get job. Tried looking for your NOC, couldn't find. Not sure what field and type of job you will land. If you have some knowledge about the Vancouver and its suburbs, you can go to vancouver.craiglist.ca and look for houses available for rent. Those have the near future availability but will give you fair idea about some of the distances and costs associated.

You can shoot all your questions without any hesitation.

Well for the tickets I booked is online, and the U.K. Website also showed if you have visa for Canada or USA u don't require transit visa.

Well for the job, I have to come there and search as I work at shipyards and my wife is a school teacher. She need to get some certificates before she can get a job in her field. Have already started applying .let see what comes up.
The only thing for the travel card was it is cheaper to load than DD and cash. When we submit a DD I checked they will take nearly min 10 days to encash it and transfer in your account. But with traveller card its there with you, can easily take the money out of any atm and deposit in your account. Only negative part is you end up paying $2 for every transaction.
Travel card are not same as debit or credit cards, they are preLoaded with an xxx amount you want to carry and bank will give you the receipt for the same. Which can act as POF. For putting money in travel card there is a difference of nearly 1-2rs per cad dollar.
