Hey how long did it take from sending and receiving your passport back with Mapple leaf

Hurray!!! It's Maple leaf in our passports... Got the passports yesterday stamped and COPR for my family. Thanks a lot for the all the forumites for all the help and advice extended and for the positive spirit maintained through the whole process.

I am planning to land in December 2nd week or so alone initially, family will join me later. Quick questions:

1. Can I show Fixed deposit I had for this process as POF at the port of entry.? Are Fixed deposits from Indian banks accepted as POF at POE?
2. And, any advice on the right amount to have in hand for 4-5 months living for a single person in Toronto?
3. Anybody planning to land during December 1st or 2nd week so that we can plan better for arranging facilities and services and make settlement smoother?

Congrats for the Stamped Passports. Answers to your questions are;

1. At the stage of landing, Canada needs you to carry the money that you had shown in the application. This money is shown to prove that you have enough money to sustain you and your family for initial year (before you get job). Having fixed deposits in India is of no use to serve this purpose. So, please plan to carry this along. Immigration authorities at the PoE ask you about money, some officer may verify what you say but most of them would believe you. Money to be carried is as per size of family on application and not the number of people entering, because if your dependents enter later, they will not be asked about money.

2. For a single person living, simple health living would be $2000 per month approximately. No hard and fast rule, depends on where you live, what kind of house you lease out, what are your food habits etc. Third month onwards, you have to pay for your health insurance as well (your employer pays if you get job)

Did they updated your ecas to medical received or not????

congrats. just a question. The issue date on your maple leave ,was it a date after you sent your passport or it was a date before.
have some confusions with a friend.
Some say your maple leaf issue date is the date you were asked to submit your passport

In my case, the visa issuance date was printed of a month earlier than the PPR.

Hello mate,

Yeah in my ecas it's 3 lines , application revived line, file started line and third line about
Medicals revived on 21st July. After that no updates and waiting patiencely for PPR or decision made.

I have travel history of 4 years outside India so could be the reason for delay in my case, not sure though.

It can take anywher between 1 week - 4 weeks after receipt of medicals. If they haven't given you receipt of medicals yet it is ok, i think they have stopped giving this update. My brother received an email from CIC stating that they have received his medicals on 24th September but his eCAS is still not updated
