Approximately 70 K applications pending in FSW class by March 2013. It'll be interesting to see the pending applications volume in next quarterly release of data.

And I believe that about 85-90% of the 70,000 applications are being processed in other visa offices outside of N/America. i don't have any fact to support that though. Just a guess based on the world population distribution.

Thanks for adding me. We hope some good news come soon. Out of curiosity I called cic for status update this week and after the operator had placed me on hold for about 5-7 minutes he came back with some soothing words: "...they have worked on your file very recently...something should come soon...be a little more patient".

can you tell me the cic number, I want to call them too

thank you

Here is the call centre number: 1-888-242‑2100. Just follow through the options until you get to permanent residence and then to the point that you will be directed to talk to an operator. You might call during business hours on Monday as they don't work on weekend.

Let's keep one another informed on this forum. We are all in the same slow-moving boat--FSW-1

Yeah..but that kinda works against me and others like me.. coz most of the apps under other skilled categories like FSW-2 /CEC/ PNP etc. are being processed at North American VOs and they get priority over us - so it seems to me.

626 stands for FSW1 submitted between June 26,2010-June 30,2011. these category has 37 specilization NOC;
71 stands for those submitted between July 1,2011-June 30,2012. after CIC adjusted job list to be 29

Both of them dont need job offers in Canada.
626 is also called M1
71 called as M2

great info, where did you get these numbers from? do you mind sharing the link? thanks.

No. Apps after June'11 are MI 3. We - between July '10 and June'11 are applicants under MI-2.

No, MI1 is all applicant between Feb 2008 and June 26, 2010. MI2 is applicant between June 26, 2010 and June 2011. MI3 is applicants between June 2011 and June 2012.
If any applicants has job offer, CIC categorize as FSW2. No job offer (but one of the NOC list) called FSW1. FSW3 is reserved for applicants had one year stay on work permit or study permit. This category is not exist in both MI2 and MI3 as it stopped by June 26, 2010.
Now, CIC concentrates on latest applicant over oldest applicant. CIC advance and process MI2 and MI3, very rare MI1. But CIC promises that they will process all MI by Fall 2014, which is NOT fair.

Now Ottawa concentrates on FSW2. so do not worry, maybe ottawa will process FSW1(MI2&3) with MI1 together. If ottawa can finish FSW2 in one or two months, it is hopeful we can get medical requirement.
