The "inventory" has always been expressed in terms of headcount IIRC.
Then I really don't get justification why draw could be hold for 6 months. Landing is 35,000 to 40,000 per month, having said inventory should be done by next month or March. They should do a draw in Feb for sure
 
What I don't understand is why mechanical engineers are not on the in demand list? (except Alberta).

Canada does not produce machines so has little need for product development, has a very small production and manufacturing industry, and R&D is very limited. That's why, except for the energy/oil&gas stuff in AB, mech engs are not in demand in Canada. Go look at the number of job postings and compare it to Sweden (1/4th of Canada's population) and you'll understand.

Besides, if they mean literal "tech" as in the "T" in "STEM" then mech eng wouldn't be there either because ME is the "E" of "STEM".

Top career in Canada as ME: Project Engineer in Alberta. Killer salary, cheap housing, you'd be a land and home owner by 35 at the latest.
