Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know what does the following statement mean with respect to FSW application ?

One of Canada’s objectives with respect to immigration is to support and assist the development of minority language communities in Canada.

The above sentence is from Guide 7000 -> Question "Language Detail" -> Form IMM0008.

My NOC is 7242. If I understand the above statement, does it mean that if my native language is a minority language (which it is), they would assist or fast track or give higher preference to my application ?

Thanks

Hi,

Its more on the lines of equal oppurtunity...
That they wont discriminate anyone based on Language etc and the only criteria will be Eligibility(67 points) ...

No such thing like higher priority. It takes normal process.

Dear Friend,
Please dont harbour any misconceptions...and as far as possible, do not try to spread a wrong word...
If you observe carefully, the place from where you have picked this sentence, just below that it is written that this question will not be used for selection !!!
I am posting the whole paragraph for your kind perusal :-

Language Detail
Question 1 From the list, select your first (native) language. This is the language that you learned at home during your childhood and which you still understand.
If your native language is not English or French, select from the list which one you would most likely use:
English
French
Neither
One of Canada's objectives with respect to immigration is to support and assist the development of minority language communities in Canada.

Note: This question is not used for selection purposes.

Hope that helps..
Regards,
