FSW program and required CRS score

Hi,

I have seen people saying that a CRS of around 470 is required for EE. However, I have noticed that twice a year, usually in May and Sept/Oct, there is a draw for "Federal Skilled Trades" that has a much lower score - the cutoff is 350 or less:

What is needed to qualify for these drawings?

You need to work in one of the eligible trade professions. Most people here don't

Can affect whether or not you would receive invites from provincial nomination programs.
Doesn't really matter as to where you plan to eventually settle in Canada

Did you bother to actually look at the FSTP requirements? You have to have at least 2 years of skilled experience in one of the listed trades to qualify. You also have to have either a job offer in your trade or trade certification from a Canadian authority.

Very few people qualify because you need either an LMIA supported job offer or provincial certification (which is very difficult to secure).

If you work in a trade, you are less likely to have a college degree or other things that give people in the FSW program higher scores. They want to have a certain number of people in the trades come in so they give them extra draws that allows them to get invited.
