@ cc0802 thanks.
@ kimwayne thanks
@ annJay yep 1 yr experience minimum and 4yrs or more, gives better points. Sa app form i filed, as welder
and Related Machine Operators ang box na chinekan ko is 4 or more yrs. More than 3 yrs Phils as welder and 2 years
sa Canada as mostly Related Machine Operators. Not only do i weld, i also make the parts that need to be welded javascript:void(0);
@ love20 sana nga may maple leaf na sa passports namin before xmas. the best xmas gift my wife, I, and 2 sons could get.
@ lizz yep, peace and order would always be a major consideration for guys and i understand your husband. That's our jobs as daddies
protect the whole family to the most we can. Edmonton, Calgary low crime rates. However Toronto as i have heard while i was there
medyo slightly higher, with all the gangs and stuff. Vancouver i dunno much (except mataas daw prices of goods) kasi the more or
less 100 pinoy migrants i personally know there (community naming Cavitenos mostly) do not know a lot of people sa Vancouver BC.

Canada is a nice place to migrate. Australia, now crowded and too strict for new migrant rules accdg to my cousins. And U.S.?? who would want to migrate to a country with a government too preoccupied with too much politics and offensive international policies. Kaya nga sila bino bomba ng mga terrorista eh, Arrogant country and maraming kalaban. Binubuhos lang nila funds nila maganda talaga for nurses kasi laki ng allocated nilang pera for Health so generally healthcare migrants talaga sure and stable there. Such as mga pinsan ng misis ko sa US. Prospering talaga.

Wishing na lahat tayo sa forum here to get our visas faster than expected. Excited with Manila VO's performance and speed..javascript:void(0);
Hi JPMA,

I have a question,i am planning to undergo training sa welder for quite some time,kc yon mga friends ko kasama ko nag apply, they worked as a welder in Japan, and ini-isip ko nman, just in case,i need addtional skills na pwde ko magamit sa canada, try ko yon welding. So,my question will be,kung magtraining ako d2,do you think na worth it siya.Based on your experience in Canada, yon mga basics ng welding ba applicable?

Thanks!

Hi kim, actually I was thinking about that also, my wife din is thinking doing barista. Sa TESDA kay iallow ako or my wife to train. I have to be practical whe we go there, maybe I wont be able to do my craft for the first few months so to survive I must do ohter things.

me too i have studied "Web Design" which is a bit too far from my being a nurse. But anyway that's free naman, kasi my husband's an OFW naman, so parang privilege yun from OWWA, you can enroll to any course that you want basta worth 14,500 pesos only.

@ kimwayne,

where is the office of TESDA?

How i ended up applying under FSW noc 7265 (welding and related machines operator) -
(an OFW's life story, please share yours too, would like to learn from other's lives)

Graduated De La Salle University BSC Commerce Major Marketing Mgt Apr 2000.
Jan2001 to dec2002 First job is one-of-three Marketing supervisors for Chowking Head O, monitoring all CK stores
from Makati down south until Bicol and Palawan. Chowking was at its prime by that time, i did a good job, performed all
duties well. Happy with my job but then again, when you excel at what you do Corporate politics and envious people
will try to pull you down. Didn't like the office setting and resigned. Noticed that marketing materials suppliers were making
good profit from supplying specific items such banners, streamers, paper leaflets/ catalogues, billboards and metal items.
That gave me an idea.

Jan 2003, being a former employee of Chowking Marketing Dept. i talked with my mom's cousin if he could help me supply
items for CK. Technically i was a subcontractor of his Steelwork/Construction company not a daily paid steel fabricator. I designed,
personally fabricated(learned to operate my own machines) aluminum and steel, delivered the items and collected the check payments.
I just needed my Godfather's O.R. and company profile so i can penetrate a big entity such as CK corp. His company benefited through
royalties i paid every collection i made. The bulk of profit was mine of course because i was my own capitalist/designer/fabricator.
If you still see black horizontal aluminum poster holders behind CK cashiers and NO Parking signs outside the stores. It is probably mine =)

Jan 2005 i set up on a neighbor's vacant lot in Las Pinas a billiard table. Built a decent nipa bungalow to shelter it with wooden benches surrounding
the table like a cockpit arena. A gambling/betting billiards arena was born. A center for neighboring baranggay's billiards hustlers and bettors to converge and clash bets on who would win. The "tong" income collected was good, moreso when i did it almost everyday from my 10am opening til 1am. 10% ownership 'tong' rights of e.g. P50 for a P500 bet for instance for a race-of-3 game could give you P40,000 a month net of expenses.
Not bad for just setting the triangle for every set of game. (except for 9-balls, its a diamond). One would wonder how factory workers, squatters and unemployed get to produce money just for gambling =)

Jan 2006 til Dec 2006 i financed a fish-exporting business which never prospered and drained me of all money i have saved. Even left me with a P300,000 cash liability. Long story short, the industrial partner i had, never intended for the partnership to prosper. He just had to know who the clients abroad were, saved all the money he had and started his own together with our office staffs which he also initially employed to our partnership. He made these people his own employees. He just needed my finances before. And with this fish business, i knew nothing, had to stop.

Jan 2007 zero bank balance and P300K in liability, i had to do something to regain my finances. Supplying to CK metal product finished items i personally fabricate and operating my then dwindling Billiards arena just wont solve my financial predicament. Couldn't have a grand wedding i
dreamed of giving my girl since 1999 and providing my surname to our then 3-yr old son because i have lost even the P500K budget for our wedding
which i had painstakingly saved for many years, damn that fish business i entered into.

Feb 2007 1st week, emailed my cousin in Canada if theres a job opening for me. Decided to go abroad.
Feb 2007 2nd week, cousin replied there was an opening in the Elevator company he works for. I said pls get me. Passed my resume.
April 2007 i got my LMO Confirmation paper from Canada with employer's letter of offer of employment. Employer just needed my basic
knowledge of power tools and basic welding. I was employed as general steel laborer NOC 9611.
May 2007 i finally got married with 7 year girlfriend. Civil wedding.
June 2007 3rd week i completed all required docs and submitted file application as OFW.
Sept 2007 4th week got my Visa.... and 2 days after that i learned my wife was pregnant. With a heavy heart i still decided to work abroad.
Oct 2007 flew to Edmonton Alberta Canada.

Everything had training rin naman before i did it.
All around ako sa factory, depende kung sino ang Canadian employee na absent or late kasi nga maraming mga puti ang tamad, Filipinos ang choice talaga
ng employers pag work output and professionalism. Pag sobra na ang mga elevator steel parts i fabricated, ginagawa akong welder or kung saan kelangan ng back up. Canadian job setting, walang ganoong job description. To my benefit, aside from welding lang before ang alam ko, nadagdag ang Other Related Machineries Operator sa Resume ko because i did it for 2 years.

Oct 2009 im back here sa Pinas. Became affiliated again sa construction company ng Godfather ko as subcontractor and personally a welder fabricator ng mga steel requirements nya na di kayang gawin sa shop nya.

Sa Alberta Canada, naisip kowhile i was there na dadalhin ko ang pamilya ko also there after five years. kaya nga di ako nag apply for immigrantship while i was there.
Thats why i didnt apply there kasi i know magiging masyado mabilis ang proseso.

ibang iba na ang pananaw ko pag babalik ko dito sa atin, original plan ko of 5 years more to stay here was changed to as soon as possible.
My point is Peace and Order dito sa atin will worsen. With poverty and overpopulation to worsen, one can not be optimistic anymore.

Heto pa, sa negosyo ng wholesaling ni misis and her clan syempre kelangan mo business/mayors permit. Kelangan magkaron ka fire clearance to get that. With April fast approaching kelangan wala kang problema regarding B.I.R naman.

Walang trapik talaga except syempre Christmas time
and the opportunities for work talagang mas marami. You dont need to be a doctor or scientist there to be prosperous, itanong mo pa yan sa kakilala namin doon na Janitor pinoy pero naka CRV hulugan. People i mentioned are in Canada as citizens na for more than a decade, syempre pinag ipunan rin nila yun. Dito sa pinas kahit ilang taon kang janitor o pintor , mabibili mo 21-speed bisikleta.

MOST OF ALL, sa Canada merong DIGNITY of LABOR. Dito sa atin kelangan naka kuwelyo ka behind a beautiful desk to be considered financially stable? sa experience ko doon and other pinoys also na ang nagtratrabaho ng may grasa sa mukha sa isang oil-company like Shell is more envied. Ang welders may diplomas tulad ng electricians and such trades. As with other OFWs, immigrants and naging citizens there, very minimal if not totally wala ang DISCRIMINATION. Warm and friendly funny people ang mga puting canadians. if naranasan ko discrimination there, nag demanda na ako and kumita.

Kung nasa health care ang field mo, then thats the best. While i ride the bus, i always see advertisements such as "Once a Nurse, always a Nurse" GET CERTIFIED BY THIS TESTING AUTHORITY and work here in Alberta as a nurse even if you graduated from another country.

Financial managers category before June 26 naipasa. Kaso by July ang sabi kulang documents to prove her job and mismatched ang needed criteria nila kaya di na namin ni-resubmit kasi post june 26 na and puno na category nya. Baka hindi na rin pansinin ang resubmission. Ang advice kasi ng immigration specialist namin is that since she is Financial Manager for many years, a double-degree Holder ng DLSU (ako 1 lang) and more credentials than me, sya dapat mag apply. Eh too late na resubmit, thats why change of plans,
ako na ulit as originally planned mag file as FSW welder category since i can prove it by documents, kaso nga lang there was a period in time na gambling operator ako eh. May lapse sa welding performance ko during 2005 to 2006. But hopefully my work experiences ko naman sana maging ok naman for them.

This must be the longest post ever made. Sana i can view also other people's stories.

Dante Apolonio - pls add sa facebook. naka sideview wearing orange shirt and naka ponytail.
Very inspiring ang story mo. Sabi nila palagi, walang comparison. Maganda daw talaga ang Canada.

hi, i am retyping this reply to you nawala the page i typed.

on experience ko work there. and from kuwento sa akin ng isang Laguna pinoy welder foreman that entered the same company. i can say that you do not need TESDA certification and schooling. Tinitignan talaga nila is haba ng work experience sa welding and the welding processes and machines you can operate such as BANDSAWS, DRILL PRESSES, BENDING MACHINES and lalung lalu na ang OPERATOR OF ROBOTIC WELD EQUIPS is a big plusfactor. Kasi when you want to work there as full welder, dapat talaga sa SCHOOL NILA WHICH IS N.A.I.T. the government authority body issuing DIPLOMAS for welders. yes you heard me, diploma para sa welder. without it, isa ka lang helper doon doing welds. Not entitled for the 30 - 35$ per hour due to a 3-yr schooled welder. But mind you, the welders there know about chemistry, physics, composition of metals. ang school nila there really entails a lot of tech know how such as an engineer would study school here. MAHIRAP daw talaga pumasa sa final years of study there.

so if you have years of experience here as welder, then go for NOC 7265 application which is WELDING AND RELATED MACHINES OPERATOR. if you are going to start now study at TESDA accredited school for welds, then welding work for a company, medyo matagal yun.

MIG WELDING, TIG WELDING, SMAW WELDING. the generally used and most applicable kelangan you know.

SMAW welding. dito sa pinas known as welding na gamit mo welding rod. SHIELDED METAL ARC welding ito. BASIC welding technique that canada
would expect you to know. versatile technique lalu na sa mga alanganing lugar and places that needs to be welded, kaya kasi ng style na ito.

MIG welding, bihira dito sa pinas. Metal inert gas welding which is welding na natutunan ko sa abroad. ginagamit lalu na sa fast paced production
factories pag maramihang weldingan kelangan ito.

TIG welding. tungsten inert gas welding. Ang delicate procedure of welding na hindi ko pa napeperpekto kasi pasmado kamay ko madalas hehehe. nag pra practice ako sa isang kakilala ko nitong TIG kasi may TIG machine welding sya, used for stainless thin sheets and tubings. Malinis and maganda ang results ng welding na ito. for delicate procedures pero hindi kasing bilis ng SMAW AND MIG.

expected of all welders lalu na is that alam ang OAS. which is oxygen acetylene torch ang gamit mo. alam ito ng mga latero ng kotse. hinang yero ang tawag dito sa atin. tsaka gamit rin syempre ang torch lalu na cutting ng makakapal na metal plates and bars.

i hope i answered your questions. just ask me baka alam ko rin other things you have in mind. =)

hello Doc carl, ako din i underwent a message training at HIMASH (Handspring Institute of Massage and Shiatsu) for swedish massage in preparation for the unexpected. My husband is currently enrolled in Welding course and i even told him to feel the forklift since he is connected in shipping. They're not even particular of the applicant's gender as long as when you are screened to do it, you can deliver their expectations. They does not know what is TESDA anyway. They are after of what you can do and Canadian experience, whatever it is keber kung doctor ka or manager ka, or what highest position you got here in the Phils. We will prosper if are are flexible in terms of work offers.

hello everybody..... we just had our medicals....... just want to share to you what happened.....

fee starts from Php4,000 for adults and Php1,700 for kids..... since my wife has a second ear piercing and I, have one too, we had an additional 1,130 for Hepa B testing..... the medicals for kids includes a few questions from the DMP....I think they just wanted to know how independent the children are..... to get a "clean" unrinalysis.... one has to be negative with protein and glocuse and a 0-3 RBC and WBC.... in this case, water therapy does wonders.....it pays to have a urinalysis before the actual medicals para you would know your status...... no urinalysis and xray for my 3 year old son and only urinalysis for my 9 year old daughter..... everything ended before lunch (the process, including the filling-up of forms started past 8am) but we were told that we have to wait until 4 pm for the result of the urinalysis..... in case we have a good one, no need for a repeat the next day.... gud for us coz we are not from the place.... holding period for the medical results is between 1-2 weeks (as to what I understand, if we don't get a call from them in two weeks time, it means na they are ready to send the results to the embassy, be it negative or positive)...... but you would know naman the status of your health, you would get a hint kung if no other additional test was required......i don't know what happens after two weeks, sana request na for the passport and maka resign na ;D ......

Well, after the unwinding thing 8), I emailed my consultant in Canada, kasi yun mga staff nila here in pinas were not replying to my messages . They told me that our application was indeed submitted on December 4, but they had to recall it because they found a discrepancy from my husband's schedule 1 form, then resent it on Dec. 15, Then I asked her to send us proof that our application were really received by CIO. Then she sent me an attachment containing those courier details. Our applications were received only last DECEMBER 17.

I just learned those courier things from here & from the other pinoy forums (that we can track down who actually received our application & the actual date it has reached the CIO). Thank you so much co-forumers, friends & colleagues for all the information & tips :D. Napaaga yun pag stress ko to myself. ???

15 – sent, dec. 17 – received.Thanks... ;D

Hay naku nagkaron tuloy kami ng mga Plan B, C, D...whatever it is, whatever it will be... eh it will be just fine.
Goodluck!!!More power!!!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D update coming up!!!!
