What a morbid thought. According to the processing guide, the criteria on which points are awarded must be met at both the time of application and when the visa is issued:

Points for previous study in Canada, previous work in Canada, and relatives in Canada are
awarded only once - either to the principal applicant or the spouse or common-law partner, but not
to both.

Pursuant to R77, these requirements and criteria must be met at the time the application is made,
as well as at the time the visa is issued.

then they will look if your aunt is economically active in Canada and can help you to settle down in Canada. If she went on social security then you can lose your points or if she is working or doing some thing which economically benefit canada then u get the point. Imran

my uncle is old enough to get old age benefit, but at the same time he works.
Is old age benefit usual in Canada and does it contradicts with "economically active" term.
What he has to show, besides blood relationship, for me to claim points?
