Dear all

I had applied to Canada on PR based under Category Federal Skilled Worker in February 2008. After four years i have received a letter from CIC. They have given me one option to switch file from FSW to BC Province Nominee Program (FSW Pilot Project). I totally confused whether this option is good for me or not. If you have any information regarding the same please guide me.

Thanks

Hello surjit,
they are giving another opportunity and alternative to enter canada. Please grab it because the news now is that the pre 2008 FSW applications are going to be returned. If you are still interested in entering canada, the option should be good for you if u do not have any other better alternative
cheers

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has asked provinces and territories for assistance in reducing the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) backlog of applications submitted before February 2008 through the FSW Backlog Reduction Pilot (FSW Pilot) initiative.

As per the parameters of this initiative, Ontario identified the following five (5) occupations in which applicants destined to the province will get an opportunity to apply for an Ontario nomination leading to permanent residency on an expedited basis. Ontario identified the following five occupations:

Learn more
•Who Can Apply
•How To Apply
1.Computer Analysts and Consultants (NOC 2171)
2.Software Developers (NOC 2173)
3.Interactive Media Programmers and Developers (NOC 2174)
4.Financial and Investment Analysts (NOC 1112)
5.Mathematicians (NOC 2161)

CIC will be contacting applicants in these occupations in February 2012 to seek their interest in participating in this Pilot. Contacted applicants will be able to apply to Opportunities Ontario and will be assessed under FSW Pilot program criteria as Ontario provincial nominees. Applications are to be submitted to Opportunities Ontario by May 4, 2012. There is no provincial fee with the application and applicants who are not selected by Ontario will retain their place in the FSWP queue.

Does participation in the FSW Pilot guarantee a Permanent Residency (PR) status?
No. Opportunities Ontario can only nominate 600 applicants under this initiative. Opportunities Ontario reserves the right to process select applications among those received and return the remainder to the senders. Assessment by Opportunities Ontario does not guarantee nomination. Only applicants that are selected by the province and deemed to meet the eligibility criteria will be nominated.

For Canada PR, I need to show balance of $11,115 (Canadian Dollor) in bank account.

My query is,
- What type of account is require?
- Is joint account valid?
- Can I show balance in "Corporation bank" ?

Any account will do as long as the funds are easily retrieved and under your name or your common in law partner. Just make sure the funds are not borrowed or a single large deposit is supported by some kind of documentation like sale of assets etc.
