I have a car, and already showed that

But I don't think they actually care about it, it seems that they only wants to see CASH put in your bank account for at least the last 6 months! quiet stupid !!! I have been living in Canada during the past five years, I have income, I have car, i have paid auto insurance and all these, and now he is not convinced I can survive after I land !!!

I completely agree with you ann_master. Quite honestly I am waiting for that same email to come. Like you I have been in Canada studying and working for years (8!) but having more than $10000 quietly sitting in your account at all times while being an international student is ridiculous. Unfortunately, these are the rules and there is nothing you can do.

I borrowed a portion of the money from my friend, and returned it later
However, I have a chance! I have lend him more than 11,000$ since 2009 within multiple transactions, and he still has not returned it to me. Do you think it is a good idea to print all my bank statements showing them that he owes me this amount, and he has actually given it back?

You would probably need a signed affidavit from your friend confirming what the amounts were for, and also to show previous bank statements that correspond to this.

You are kind of on thin ice already having already borrowed money and pretended it was yours. And the visa officer is clearly very suspicious from the tone of his/her message.

I sympathize in one sense because the proof of funding rules for international students already living in Canada do seem to be strange, but I guess they want to be convinced that you are establish yourself after you finish studying, and the officer will not have discretion in this instance. He/she will have an operations manual asking the question "Do they have X unencumbered funds?".

I would just be completely honest from now on, and show them what you DO have.
If some of the large amounts was re-payment of money owed to you, you will need to have some proof from the source that it was borrowed in the first place.
