Guys if you got PPR, please don't forget to update the FSW Outland spreadsheet. This will really help future applicants in anticipating timelines and milestones.

I'm no expert, but i have read the posts of several seniors and they all indicated that the 6 months start counting when one's application is complete. However, i have to say that CIC has shown courtesy a couple of times when it comes to timelines and expectations. For example, when Asivad got rejected after 4 months of waiting, he was brought to the front of the line when he applied again. I believe he got PPR after about 10 days from AOR! So I'm confident that they will be courteous with you as well and will not wait until May/June to send you PPR! I think you'll get to hear good news around mid/end March. Best of luck!
Thanks! I hope that's the case. I cannot even imagine waiting until June. It seems light years away :)

exactly my point! I dont think this is coincidance., I've been saying the same thing.. and I am 90% shure that before they acctualy generate GCMS they look to see if there are some parts of your file that need to be "polished out" before they let you see what work they have done ;)
I too agree with this.. One of my friend has sponsored their parents in 2011 and nothing was happening with their application, so he tried ordering the GCMS notes.

Their BG check actually started 2 days after their GCMS notes request was processed. So it definitely has some kind of connection with your application updates.

I have ordered mine in December and should be receiving it by mid January, so lets see if I have any updates in my application notes.

I've been thinking about one thing lately: when CIC says they aim to process the applications in 6 months or less, when do they begin counting? Is it from the date of AOR or from when your application is complete? For example, my AOR is October 6, but I was missing FBI PCC and had to undergo additional medical tests. So my application was fully complete only on December 12. Am I looking at 6 months processing from December 12? Because if that's the case, it sucks.
Iread it on cic ee manual, i dont know the exact link this moment, but it specificaly says 6 months starts from R 10 completness check.. a bummer :/

Same here... what i think is that if we dont get our ppr today untill midnight, we are in for a longer wait. I think they are issuing ppr letters to everyone with ready for visa applications now to fill in their cap and statistic for this year. So if we pass today without ppr they dont have much reason to hurry our process ...

Hoping... today is left :) positive vibes... ooommm

I was thinking the same thing. Looks like they have to meet this year's numbers. The number of July/August inlanders left to receive PPR may decide the time frame for us outlanders.

now i m checking my email every two mins...

BTW yelena i have a different theory.... they might have already reached their cap with syrian refugees..
so just delaying july/aug applicants till next year so that their PRs may count towards next year...
Hence i am hoping to a BIG batch of PPRs in first two weeks....

All the best to us.. :p

i am 28 July AOR.. FSW outland

IMO, Syrian refugees do not fall under the cap of the economic immigration programs.

second that. refuges are counted "on top" of the number of planned pr visas issued, and are different then economics categories.

In my work I deal with a lot of government bodies and authorities and they all have certain yearly programs to fulfill, so esentially december is the bussiest time of year for them., some migh even loose funds / available slots, if they dont use the planned amount in the given fiscal year.. I think cic works the same way., the only problem here is the fact that we have no way of knowing what is the acctual amount of pr visas issued upto now, so we don't know what amount they have left to give out untill the end of year :)

and I think fsw inland and outland fall under the same economic category, so there really should be no dividing or prioritising among those two categories., that is if you don't take into account the moral grounds for giving preference to the people that are already there and contributing to canada already..

there we go, I found the source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp

In Express Entry, applicants are required to submit a complete electronic application for permanent residence (e-APR) within 60 calendar days of being issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The application and all supporting documents must be submitted electronically, through the applicant’s MyCIC account.

Applications are assessed for completeness upfront. An application found to be incomplete should be rejected [R10] and all fees associated with the application should be refunded to the applicant.

The Express Entry six-month processing standard begins when an application is assessed as complete and is promoted in the Global Case Management System (GCMS). It ends when Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) makes a final decision on the application.

if it makes you feel any better., my application was promoted at the end of october , so almost 3 months after AOR.

Thanks, that makes sense.

Now, the other questions is: what does it mean that the application is complete, particularity in terms of medicals? I did my medicals upfront. Submitted all the necessary paperwork. So that should be complete, right? However, I had to undergo additional tests, so medicals were not passed until that was done. Does that mean the application was incomplete until that point?

I know, no one here really has an answer, and we can only speculate. I am just thinking out loud. I guess getting things off my mind and chest :)
