Hey I got this from gov.uk.
Transiting without a visa
You might be eligible for ‘transit without visa’ if:

  • you arrive and depart by air
  • have a confirmed onward flight that leaves on the day you arrive or before midnight on the day after you arrive
  • have the right documents for your destination (eg a visa for that country)
One of the following must also apply:

  • you’re travelling to (or on part of a reasonable journey to) Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA and have a valid visa for that country.
I guess I meet all the criteria mentioned by you. So, I should be okay without a transit visa then. Thanks for sharing the useful information from the authentic website @Skyler68. I truly appreciated that.

@simran.001 You can probably write to Ottawa seeking an update on your application in a prescribed format. Many applicants, who did it in the past, happened to notice positive results soon after. The email ID of Ottawa and email's format could be found out in the previous messages of this thread.

@gurik & @KiranK Please see if you can suggest any better course of action here. Thanks.
Thank you @In_Need_Of_Silver_Lining
I emailed them last week(to Ottawa August 1)they said file is currently being processed at NDVO , and additional documents changed to don't need additional documents.
I have hired an immigration consultant on my file, not sure if I should email them again.
Please advise!!

If you already emailed them last week, you should bide your time until you get any further notification from them @simran.001. Could you please share your timeline though?

Are you in IP1 stage or IP2? Have you already paid your RPRF?

I received an email from a CIC agent at CIO saying "Thank you. Received". It is not an auto generated email. This is in reference to the cse( employment doc) raised in May. I find this super strange as on 7th July this doc was already uploaded and i got a confirmation for the same. My ADR status also changed a few days later from reviewing, uploaded to "we do not need additional docs".

My GCMS notes shows the receipt of the doc in July. Weird that they are still mulling over this. And seems like my application is still at CIO Sydney.

Jeez this wait is annoying. 92 days and no movement as yet. :(:(

Strange indeed. If you've done everything that's been asked why the delay?

Makes me wonder: are they preferential for certain things like some NOCs or even countries of origin?

I am more inclined to say that a preference for NOC's such as the ones in IT and the likes are getting the upper hand here. That's what I think though. But not that other applications with non IT NOC's aren't moving.

Only CIC can answer but never tell.

Hey guys,

I have booked my British Airways flight from New Delhi to Toronto via London Heathrow. There is a stop over of about 100 minutes at LHR. Does anyone have experience of traveling via this route? If yes, could you please let me know if I would need a transit visa to be able to travel via London.

Thanks.
100 Mins is equal to 1 hr and 40 mins Lay over at LHR (Heathrow), and the answer to your question is NO, you will never need a transit visa if you have an onward travel. Please note, you are not going out of airport. You shall be in transit lounge making your way to the gate where your next flight is waiting.

Change to no documents needed is a good sign. Can't really say at what exact stage is your application but it is progressing which is what matters. The absolute way to know what's going on with the application is to orde GCMS notes. But I'd say you hold on some more time to order the notes. AOR of 30 April means just over 3 months into the process. Yes, it may look like a long time for you looking at ppl getting PPR in 30 days but actually 90 + days are okay. Sending another email to CPC Ottawa won't help either as your VO is Delhi. The right way to enquire is to fill the web form, the link of which you should have got in the reply from Ottawa. I'd say hold on some more days, your file is progressing.

I will have to disagree with you here. As per me there's no preference in the process for some NOCs. It's going to be a nightmare for CIC to identify which NOCs to pass and which ones to hold. That will make it a manual process with additional checkpoints on "which-NOC-to-pass". That's not what is happening here. Yes our expectations are not matching with the progress we desire from them, that's it. There have been all kinds of speculations on country of origin, NOC etc. The only visible item for delay turns out to be the visa office where the file is being processed but we don't know the manpower and other constraints they may have.

My view, yours may be different.

I dont think this abnormal.... its really only 77 days pos AOR.. most of us.. like me didnt get their meds passed till way after 60 odd days.. and movement after that was quite a wait for me... i am dayicannotevencount and has been on IP2 since July 13... patience my friend.
I agree with you my friend, but he is 38 days in IP1 not IP2!!!!, and for May people medicals pass was in 30-40 days, in April it was normal for everyone to get medicals in 60 days so that is understandable.
All he wants is just NA in Background, no IP2, no PPR, I think that is being very very patient. He is not even sure if his R10 is passed as yet, that is not normal my dear. I applaud his patience:)

NDVO does not responds much, you can try contacting them.
You can also e-mail ottawa as suggested by Silver. Might get some insight.
