Good question.

I can tell from my experience.

On 20July2017 i received a revert for my email asking my Visa Office and got the reply stating its Ottawa.

On21July2017 i got my PPR.

i m currently residing in Abu Dhabi.

From the above its understood, my entire application till the last step was processed in Ottawa and not in Abu Dhabi.

in my case just the stamping on the passport and issuance of COPR will be done in my LVO (i.e. Abu Dhabi).

So if all checks are finished, the above is the only process done in Abu Dhabi

It seems logical to me and most of the processing lately is done in that way but for some reason there seems to be an unknown delay for the finalization and anyways what do cic do after all checks are finished?what does finalizing mean?

Glad to have you guys here. It was beginning to get lonely. Will be checking visa office every two weeks and will update here. Let's keep updating particularly as we are stuck in a slow visa office. It will help keep us sane.

One thing, I want us all to go away with. Nothing wrong with our application, Sydney is a Toyota while Ottawa probably is an F1 Benz.

Bro it takes 13 hours to build a Toyota and 6 months for a Rolls Royce.

So does that mean sydney>ottawa>then lvo for finalization???? If yes am wondering what will they do at our lvo if all checks are finished?

Possible they just send the PPR mail with instructions - after the finalisation.

Yes, paid upfront. I might have been too optimistic with a timeline of a week between IP1 and possible PPR.

Hi my AOR is may 05 it went to ip2 on Jul 15 still no ppr mail.. is there any one with ip2 on Jul 15 and still no ppr?? I checked my spam and promotion lists still no luck.. also from my observing in last 1 week ppr mail will be sent in 9-11 pm ottawa time?? Any advise???

Hello, Mui! I have the nearly the same IP2 date as you (timeline in my signature below). Like you, still no PPR (all email boxes checked) but I haven't gotten a reply as to which VO my application is being processed. Keep faith!

Hi all,

Just wanted to share some calming thoughts for everyone still waiting for positive news like movement out of NA to IP1 or 2, or the golden PPR: lots of people have been reassuring us to just hang it there and keep faith. They're all right. Let's not all get frustrated with news that some people have shorter timelines than us. I've been guilty of this. I have been feeling stuck in the rut of waiting but I realized that I could have been too expectant. Every case is different: number of dependents, number of countries visited that may or may not need police clearances, need to re-check your POF, proof of your work experience and education and your declared NOC, and maybe even communication with your authorized representatives. Breathe first and re-check your own timeline and how complex you think your case has been before dropping CIC an email or calling them. I keep telling myself now to stop comparing my timeline with those with shorter timelines since I know the earliest I really should start panicking is if it goes past 6 months (October in my timeline) without news.

Keep faith! We'll all get news soon, and hopefully it'll be golden!

I sent a mail on Friday to ask about status again. Hopefully they would say Ottawa or New Delhi this time

Yayyyy!!!!!! Birthday surprise from CIC. Medicals passed at 60 days today early morning. Background status changed to Not Applicable. Patience is the key!!!

I got a confirmation on 17 July, I was 4 days in IP2 status! So they must have approved it that day.
