Hi All,

I have a question about work experience required to apply as a FSW -

I know that one year of full time employment under 0, A or B is necessary however, can it be a year cummulative? I keep seeing continuous on the CIC website but what if I worked for two different companies with the necessary skill level and it added up to 1 year, does that qualify?

Does having an offer of employment trump any of the minimum requirements? I have been offered a permanent position, am I eligible to apply with that employment offer?

If you have an offer of employment in O,A or B skill level, read the specs for FSW2. A year of full time or full time equivalent employment...if it was for two companies it could not be employment from January 1 2010 to June 30 2010.............then a break.............start employment at new place November 1, 2010 to May 31, 2011. It would be allowable if you had a short break, ie you knew you were going to the next employer before leaving the first and it was a brief period between.

That's my understanding also.

Continuous doesn't have to mean staying with the same employer. It can be 6 months with one employer and 6 months with another if it's the same NOC.

Also I am sure I remember reading somewhere that short breaks (probably up to 1 month) between jobs are acceptable.

Based on reading lots of posts here and my own experience (I had a 4-day gap). A small gap between jobs is typically not an issue.

Wait and see what a few other people say.

thank you for sharing your experience, but can u please answer the below qs:

1. if u had only 1 yr or more years of experience while applying for express entry?
2.did u apply as federal skilled worker, means ur experience was foreign experience (non canadian experience)?

3.what were your employment dates with each company and gap between them?

4.which yr did u get your PR?
