When CIC says only 300 cap per NOC, what do they actually mean?

Whether
a. The first 300 applications received by CIC
b. The first 300 applications that are successfully tagged as eligible after various steps of verification and assessment
c. The first 300 applications that will be successfully cleared for PR.

That would be stupid if A is correct :s It has to be B :(

Believe me or not. A is actually possible in this ra t race world. Take for instance NZ silver fern visa, it falls under category A. Nearly impossible to get one.

I will take myself as stupid as somebody mentioned...........
Still, I think that CIC is not gonna go in depth to verify all and then com out with the number of Cap filled. When they are gonna update every two weeks, (that's wat they did previous years) how will they check all and recheck all, they will see if required doccs are there are not.
Like initial screening only, what do you say?

U r right & the Answer is A
The logic that works behind this :

Number of categories (NOC List): 24
Number of applications per category (CAP): 300

Total applications per year that will reach CIC: 300 x 24 = 7200
Worldwide total applications CAP : 5000

Over all Excess applications : 2200 (Rejected applications)

Hence rejections will be part of 300 applications.

It can never be "B" or "C" since if they start working on 300 successful applications per category, the total applications number will reach to 7200 & then they can't reject 2200 successful applications to bring down the number to 5000

If 5000 is the total cap then approximately each occupation its going to be 208, even though they might accept 300 application for each occupation, but I think after acceptance filter will be done based on the selection criteria for each occupation.
Now, the question is, what if all the accepted 300 accepted application fit the criteria and giving no space for rejection?

5000 cap is not like 208 for each category.

For some categories CIC may not receive even 100 applications in a year & on the contrary, some categories CAP is reached within months.

If the answer is A, then as others claim that it may take weeks or months for each to fill is not true. With A, it will finish off within a week.

If all fit the bill, then they may go for time-tested-H1B-eeshtyle lottery method ;D
