I have MS(wireless network engineer) + 3 years of exp in USA and my spouse has MBA(business consultant) + 5 years of exp in India. Who, do you think, has better chances of getting PR done faster based on the demand in Canada (as both the profiles are not part of the list of 29 accepted occupation list)?

Appreciate your guidance!

If I were you I would have gone with yours profile as USA work experience counts while immigration. Almost same is the case with us.

Thanks

Could somebody describe assessment process of your education and skills?

I have done 8 years of Primary school, 4 years of highschool and 5 of University gaining Masters in IT. Is that an equivalent of 25 points (Obtained a master’s or Ph.D. and completed at least 17 years of full-time education or full-time equivalent studies) ?

What I do not understand is, they will announce which companies will have to do your skills assesment then those companies will be flooded with hundreds or thousands applications from all over the globe. Of course that will take a goof few weeks to go through and send the results back. In the meantime Canada will only acceps a certain amount of people for a X occupation. Which brings me to another question, are the applications accepted on first come first serve way or will there be a boundle of applications collected and then the best ones will be choosen?

Best regards,

Totem

You will get 23 points for a master's degree. Read the following link:
http://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2012/2012-08-18/html/reg2-eng.html

So far, CIC has always accepted applications in a first-come-first serve basis. They have not announced anything to the contrary for the new FSW. But, it is clear that people with job offer will have the first priority.

I know the following will be announced by CIC in April/2013, but does anyone know if they will all be announced on the same date in April/2013?

[1] ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) agencies
[2] NOC list
[2a] NOC list limit

I just know that the ECA list will be announced either the same day or AFTER the NOC list. No idea about the limit.

hi to all ,

one consultant in my city told me that in April 2013 cic is going to announce that fsw must have job offer ... is it true or not..????

:-\ :'(

At this stage I do not think anybody knows anything. So I would not trust that consultant 100%. AS far as I understand that after talking to good few agents and agencies we are all in the same boat. Waiting for CIC to make a move.

Not true. In April CIC is going to announce the list of occupations that will be eligible to apply, the limit for each occupation, and the list of ECA agencies. Although, if you have a job offer, your application will be processed in a reasonable amount of time.

Hi,

I'm still new to the idea of immigrating to Canada and so I have very limited knowledge in this regard.
I would be starting with the application process once the NOC list is out in April.

Can somebody plz tell me when will be the Canadian Government accepting FSW applications after the May 2013 period ?

Thanks Gopal for starting this thread.

Hi

Are you ready with your IELTS scores and other re-requisites?

Thanks

Hi Gopal,

You have any clue regarding the time span for which Canada will be accepting applications once they are open from 1st May.

Regards..
