I send my Application for 2173 and got confirmation from courier it was received by 15th of July , but till now no charges on CC and no reply

is that normal? till when should I wait

Hi Guys, My application for NOC 2174 reached CIO on 3rd July.. no news yet.. Sent email to CIo.. but no reply yet.. Really worried and frustrated now..
Can someone tell what whose was the last application to be accepted and what was his/her application's date of receipt?

Does this job description looks more close to NOC 2173 or 2174? This was the job description in the advertisement for the job opening. My designation at my company(which is a reputed big MNC) is "software engineer". If I use similar description will it be counted in 2173(Software engineers) or 2174(Computer programmers, the quota is already full)?

Considering the fact after every month 150 Caps are utilized, so 150+150+150 (July+Aug+Sep) = 450, Adding to existing 425+450=875 by the time September Applicants receive PER. So, its going to be tough call :S

Lets hope for the best.

My 2173 application was received by CIC recently. I would have gone for another noc since I also had over a year of experience for 2171/2172 as well and they seem to be safer, but it was difficult at the time to get the letter. So I just applied for 2173, got a master of software engineering from one of top 100 universities as well.
All these info about cap estimates are just rough estimates, nobody really knows how many applications are in backlog waiting to be checked for completeness. Some claim caps are updated for eligible applications, some say they are for complete ones, I got a friend who believes the caps reported on CIC website are "estimates" themselves. There also seem to be a major shift by programmers and web devs toward 2173 since 2174 was filled, so that might also make 2173 hotter.
Receive date on first cap reached-returned application for noc 2174 can help correct some estimates but still the only solution for us is to wait and see.

I have applied under NOC 2174

File received : 5 August 2014

I have come to know that 2174 applicants after 16 June do not stand a chance this year.

I am also planning to apply in Express Entry but I have not received my application package yet and no communication from CIC.

Already sent inquiry email to CIC, no update.

I am bit worried now about return of my application package as I might need to reuse ielts result and WES report.
