I have some queries regarding fsw14

1) I have applied in fsw13 in noc 2147 and now so can I apply for fsw14 in 2174? do you think this will create any problem as I have valid experience.

2) My file was returned due to caps reached so should I have to mention UCI number in new application I will send?

3) Can you please provide me what to write in reference letter from employer? I have sent it last year but just need to confirm the format.

Help needed on Birth certificate. I do not have birth certificates, what are the alternatives. my attempt for getting birth certificate is getting delayed. Please advise. Anyyone without birth certificate, got their PRs so far. I am born before 1980.

If you dont have a birth certificate you can submit notary attested higher secondary certificate (But it should have the name of your parents)... Another alternative is that an affidavit can be prepared for the same stating the reason.....

I have a quick question we want to apply under FSW now since our job as System analyst is now included!!!!
BUt we are still officially PR since we left canada in 2009 after 8 years living there and didnt return. what shall we do?
call and reanounce or just re apply????

Hi ,

Below is the requirement for proof of fund

1) Current bank certification letter
2)evidence of saving balance
3)fixed or time deposit statements

There is nowhere mentioned that you need to give last 3 or 6 months statement. So if we borrow money and show the certification letter which only states the balance in the account and not the history, it will work?? right ?

total requirement for 2 adults is 14720 CAD.

If I have 15000 CAD in saving accounts , will it work ? do they consider that we need to pay for application fees, RPRF fees and airline tickets too ?

so ideally we should have atleast 3-4k CAD over and above minimum ? is my understanding correct ?

1. Don't have IELTS yet. It will take around one month.
2. Don't have Assessment from WES or any authority. This will also take around one month.

so i will be ready to submit my application in 15 June.

Hello we are in the same boat. never expected that they will add more occupations....
Just try and cross your fingers. Nobody knows how quickly the caps fill...

BUT we are still officially PR. Left canada in 2009 and never returned. So we dont meet the residency requirements any more.
Can we still apply now?
Do we have to reanounce our status?

Breaking News: Re-Opening of Federal Skilled Worker Program

On Wednesday, April 23, 2014, the Government of Canada announced new occupations and caps for the popular Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program. Additional important information has been announced for the Federal Skilled Trades (FST) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) programs.

The new changes go into effect for all three programs on May 1, 2014.

“This is a long-awaited and exciting announcement for applicants all over the world,” said Attorney David Cohen. “I am certain that in the coming days we will see an incredible amount of excitement generated for the FSW program in particular, which has historically been the most popular path to Canadian Permanent Residency.”

Federal Skilled Worker Announcements

Effective May 1, 2014, the FSW will be accepting an overall total of 25,000 new applications. Applicants must have at least one year of work experience in one of 50 eligible occupations. A maximum of 1,000 applications will be accepted per eligible occupation.

The eligible occupations include many widely practiced professions. They are as follows:

Applicants under the FSW program will be assessed according to the same criteria as 2013. Applicants are assessed on a points grid that takes into account important factors such as education, language skills, work experience, age, and adaptability to Canada. All applicants must meet minimum language requirements in either English or French.

In addition to skilled workers, the FSW program includes streams for PhD holders and individuals who have received eligible job offers from Canadian employers. A maximum of 500 PhD applicants will be accepted under the upcoming program. Applicants who hold valid job offers are not subject to any intake caps.

“While it is exciting to see so many occupations on this list, the most popular are likely to fill very quickly,” said Attorney David Cohen. “I strongly encourage anybody interested in this program to seize the moment and prepare to submit their application much sooner rather than later.”

I am a Bookkeeping Supervisor in a Canadian Company with 1+ years experience and also studied 3 years Advance diploma in Canada. My NOC is 1212. I am on 3 years open PGWP (No LMO). My NOC is one of those 50 categories. Can I apply under FSW ?
