Hi all,

Need your advice.
I am on the last stage of the process.
3rd line since 12May: Medical results have been received.

My husband got a job offer in Canada and he will begin working on 1 Sep.
(His job is work permit exempted and only visitor record is needed )

We have ordered air tickets of 1 July already.

I think chance of getting the PR visa before 1 July is very low.

Want to have your opinion:
Shall I inform the HKVO of our plan at this stage? So they will send our files to Canada to process?
Or wait until later?

I strongly hope to get the PR visa before we more but... :'( :'( :'(
it seems it is quite impossible

I think we have to go Canada 1st with the visitor records and wait there for our PR visas
We are currently in HK.
Got US visitor visa already...in any case...can go to the States 1st and land again to Canada.

Hi,

There's still chance for you to get COPR before July. If you get PPR in the next couple of weeks, I'd suggest you to send your passports and, with it, a letter explaning your situation and/or document proving the job offer so they MIGHT speed up the stamping.

After that, the safest way would be to raise CSE explaining you'll be in Canada and they will give you the details needed to submit the passports to Ottawa once you get there.

Best of luck for you! :D

I am about to write to enclose materials to HKVO and report the materials to be submitted to them separately via designated parties.
What is the preferred way to send it through? Since it involves some true copy of cert, i am thinking to do it by hand to their Quarry Bay office (is it allowable?) or do it by registered post / courier.

Grateful if i can hear some advice.

Hi all!

Does anyone know if the FBi fingerprinting should be strictly done on the standard white stock paper prescribed by FBI?

Thanks.

Yes, Waiwera is right! It is best to follow their instructions in the email , that is sending them all in one package to be safe.

more than one week passed since VO asked for RPRF and no MR till now, no SLU either
I don't understand how HKVO works, everything is unpredictable
I hope they will not ask for more documents later

What is SLU? Newbie here... ;) and when they asked for RPRF and other docs, does it mean they were done with the other standard document checks and MR should follow?

YES! This waiting and lack of a clear pattern is killing me...
Paid for RPRF in the same day I got the email and my documents arrived there yesterday morning. Yet, no updates...

I was checking other cases on the spreadsheet, but all of them seemed to get MR only a couple of days after RPRF.
My greatest hope was that they would send MR and PPR together as it happened in a few other VOs before (including Beijing). But I know, it's too much to ask for...

Hey Serc,

SLU is Second Line Update, which means getting a second line on your eCas page saying something like "We started processing your application on [date]".
It's difficult to be sure about the documents/background verification, but applying common sense and previous cases, that should be right. We should expect MR at any moment now. Nevertheless, HKVO is incredibly unpredictable...

Thanks... I never had that yet... Even AOR. That Makes me think that they are unpredictable. The last email i had was my PER in March.i have been thinking all the while my papers are in Manila VO cos i never received any update after That.I was just surprised when i received the second email requesting for RPRF and other docs.and my papers are in HK VO! 8)

Yes, that's right. Thanks for reminding me of that tricky part. I think the safest way is to spend the 2-year chunk of time in Canada at the later part of the 5 year. On second thoughts, I think I'll land in Vancouver and stay there for a few days and then come back to HK. After two and a half years, I'll really move to Vancouver or Toronto and live there for a very long time. To play safe, I'll only allow myself to be out of Canada for only two and a half years and then I'll be in Canada continuously for a very long time. In this way, I think I'll meet the residency obligations. Do you think so?
That sounds to me like it will meet the obligation, yes.
