I'm inclined to think that they ask it as a standard procedure and if you already sent PCCs with your application and you haven't lived in another country for 6 months since then, you don't have to provide anything. It actually says "if you have not already submitted them".

For example, I've sent my PCCs from Brazil with my application and haven't been there since. That wouldn't be reasonable to ask for it again. AfaIu, that wouldn't be an issue.

About the hukou, I've sent an email to HKVO asking about it. Will let you know once/if I get a reply.

If you don't have a hukou just explain that you don't have one.

They probably asked for PCC because it's a form letter. If you've already provided one and it's not expired, mention that you have already provided it.

Thank you so much for your reply
I sent them an email too, I hope they would reply soon

1. It depends. NDVO for example always asks for RPRF at the time of MR or PCC request, whereas I was not asked for RPRF until I got PPR. Even within VOs, they seem to have different procedures for applicants from different countries. I don't recall anyone living in HK being asked for RPRF at the time of MR. But my advice is to do what they ask for when they ask for it. :D

2. If you already sent a PCC and it's not expired then you shouldn't need to provide another one. In your return letter to the VO, be sure to mention that you included one with your application.

3. If you have a household register, you should provide it.

Thank a lot for your responses! It's clear for me now :)

Hello

it seems everyone got the same email from HKVO on the same day, myself included. Asking for PCC, hukou and RPRF.
cheers

Thank you for your reply, but how can I know if the PCC expired or not ?

They're generally valid for a year and as long as they were not issued more than 3 months before your application date you should be ok for the whole process.

Thank you again,
I noticed that they asked for "Police certificates from each country in which you or your dependants (whether accompanying you to Canada or not) have spent 6 months or more since the age of 18, if you have not already submitted them"
but I sent PCCs only for the last 10 years
Now I know why they asked again for PCCs, and I am going to send VO new PCCs

Yes this is a source of confusion as most questions only ask about the last 10 years but security/criminality check is lifelong. Good luck!

I'm afraid i can not provide police certificate within 30 days as requested from HKVO. I would like to request an extension if possible. From their email it's written as follow:

For all e-mail correspondence with our office, we request you to use the enquiries form at:
https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=hong%20kong

Always include the applicant's full name, date of birth, and file number in your message

But the link above does not work :o :o
anyone knows another link? or just give them a call (852) 3719-4700?
please please kindly advise ??? :'(

Hi,

I've done ME in Mar and HKVO already updated 3rd line 'Medical has been received'in ECAS, then HKVO requested PCC in APR, and all PCCs have been received by HKVO on May 14. Since then, I haven't heard from HKVO yet, in how many days will I receive RPRF and passport request? Is it by email?

Hi Waiwera,

The link they sent is outdated. This is the new one: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=hong%20kong&_ga=1.155120048.941831373.1425959445

Hope you get the extension, mate.

You shouldn't expect much coherence from HKVO, that's what I've learnt so far :P many of us got email for RPRF, PCCs etc, but no MR yet.

I would say sit tight for the next couple of weeks. Perhaps they might send both RPRF and PPR emails at the same time. Btw, yes, you get them through email.

Good luck to us all!

THANKS so very much, mate. Hopefully they would give me the extension or at least they would receive the other documents while waiting for the police certificate from the other countries.. fingers crossed ;D

Hi all,
I just noticed this thread. As I am applying thru' HKVO as well, I would like to check if there is anyone submitted application in August last year? I submitted Application to CIC on August 19 and got AOR and MR on Oct 2x, Medical done on Nov 7. However, my wife needed to re-do her medical because of suspicion of TB and she finished 2nd medical in March this year and got cleared. After ECAS update as "medical results have been received", there is no further notice or update. In addition, I heard that the applications from Beijing are being transferred to HKVO, this may further delay the total processing time. I am worrying that my kids may not be able to catch the Fall semester.

Thanks

It's true that all FSW applications got transferred from BJVO to HKVO in late March. This seems to have caused some delays for applicants whose files got transferred, but from what I've seen, not so much for those who originally applied to HKVO.

As your second round of medical exam did not get cleared until March, and since your application is still within the average processing timeframe (currently at 11 months), I don't think there's much for you to do at this point. It looks like VOs can still run security checks after medical results have been cleared (and this is happening for some applicants), so this could be one of the reasons why you haven't heard anything yet.

Having said that, I think the HKVO has been pretty good at keeping in line with the stated processing time. So if everything goes according to plan, your application should be finalized at the latest in June or early July. That should give you some, if not sufficient, time to prepare for Fall entrance.

Hi guys,

Did any of you get MR or any other info after that odd RPRF/hukou/PCC email?

I sent an email asking about the Hukou, since I'm not a Chinese/Taiwan citizen. No answer till now. I'm thinking of sending the rest of the docs and simply explain on my cover letter why I'm not sending it. What do you guys think?
