There will not be any acknowledgement from CIO

If you have given credit card for payment, you can expect fee charging by feb 3rd or 4th week

you have to wait for atleast 2 months.
Fee encashment (if credit card, you will be notified by bank sms)

After 2 to 4 weeks of fee encashment, you will get PER mail from CIC which is positive eligibility of your submitted application, and your file will be transferred to local VO(visa office)

From local VO, Medical Request will be issued, along with PCC request, and landing fees (RPRF request)
Time for MR depends on local VO, approx 2 months after PER mail.

Final Decision will be made on sucessful submission of PCC, Medical report, Landing fees.

Remark: If your cc/dd got charged it doesnt mean that u will get per. It will be reviewed by case officer.

All the best

No... DD is already the 'money deducted' from your bank a/c so there is no risk of technical glitches or limits etc as in case of CC.

Thats a wrong misleading information...

I have heard of an applicant who had DD, everything was done properly by them and their bank, BUT some stupid Canadian clerk made a mistake in typing the cheque number, and the charge got declined.. now their case in high probability was going to return.

If DD was a 100% safe way, I would have made DD as well.

That is totally wrong that Demand Draft is not secure.
In fact the "demand draft" was started by banking institutions in order to find make payment hundred percent sure. Because the bank by whom the demand draft has been made undertakes the full responsbility to make full payment whenever the demand draft is presented for payment. Now in modern days of swift technology, even the issuing bank who issues the demand draft, makes the full payment to the account of the bank, where the issued demand draft has to be presented for encashment. Demand draft is even used for international business transactions in order to ensure that payment is hundred percent secure. Problems with credit card you can find several cases on the main forum of FSWP 2014.

Normally yes, but CIC is not attempting to check what happened - if the DD returns false, even if the stupid clerk put 7 instead of 1 in the DD number on computer, thats it.. your application is going to return.
No one is going to try again, or see what went wrong.
That is example given to me by my immigration counselor when asking whether bank cheque (DD is what you call it) is preferred to CC.. so no, DD is not 100% fool proof either, perhaps just slightly lower chance or declined transaction.

What a relief this thread has been. Just saw quite a few cases of FSW applications received on 31st December, 2014.

This is no reason at all to say that DD is better than CC. What if the clerk or the officer continuously enters the wrong CC info? That way the CC transaction will never go through. I used CC but DD is the more secured/guaranteed form of payment.
