never know there is a difference...civilengr said:According to another forum member the UME takes longer comparatively to IME. BTW I had done my medical exam as well for my study visa (Not in Canada) but I still had IME no.

Did you try the notes?maryjane said:My IME on the medical report form from cic reflected my old medical exam bec i had one for my student visa. So the clinic gave me a UMI or UME number and i emailed that to CIC. will that delay things?

LucySilian said:Thank you! Some people I know got their MER after 2 weeks, which worries me. Anyway, do you know how long the maximum waiting time will be?
DavidTFS said:Based on 98 applicants listed their timeline on FSW14 SS file, The average time between "Medical Request" date and "PPR" date for CPC-Ottawa is 73 days. The minimum is 13 days and maximum is 196 days! The significantly long delays can be because of PCC/FBI late submission or complexity of your background check i.e. number of countries you have lived for more than 6 months, etc.
Good luck!
