So, I did a routine call to CIC today. And the agent told me that: they have not reached the final decision yet.

If it is not a matter of wording, this could mean that all the assessments are complete and the application is in queue for final review by the Assistant Director of the CPC-O.

Yes. Everything went smoothly. Just keep trying 403-201-9600. He does the physicals and refers you for blood and xray.

Your COPR will say SF1-FED, hence if you decide to settle in QC, it would mean that you failed to fulfil the obligations under which you had applied for Permanent Residency.

Yes I remember reading that line on IMM7000 but as a permanent resident of Canada you have right to "live, work or study anywhere in Canada". This is as per CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp :

I know about Quebece they have different rules.But what about all other provinces.For example if i have filled Alberta, CA at time of application but i want to settle in Toronto, ON now.Will this be a problem?

Not at all. You can live anywhere except QC.

Justchill, look at the PhD thread. CPC-O is requesting proof that grad students WILL move out of QC when they are granted PR. And there have been quite a lot of rejections on this basis.

As per Regulation 75(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, the Federal Skilled Worker Class is prescribed as a class of persons who may become permanent residents on the basis of their ability to economically establish themselves and who intend to reside in a province other than the Province of Quebec. Although you indicated on your application form that you intend to reside in Toronto, Ontario, you currently live in Montreal, Quebec. I am concerned that you do not intend to live in a province other than the Province of Quebec. Therefore, please submit information and/or documentation that would allay this concern within 30 days from the date of this letter.

When you apply for renewal of PR card or lodge a citizenship application same rule will apply. It is a very big deal and I encourage you to take it seriously.

BTW, how do you check to see if the tracking is activated? Just enter the tracking number on the Canada Post website, correct?

Yes but just open it every now and then because sometimes it is ok. I've been doing that all day that's why i know that my package is in "out for delivery" status.

Their mobile app is actually working, so you can use that. Although I frankly don't know what else to track in your case. The envelope is either in your mailbox or headed to your RPO for pick-up. And that's insanely cool.

Oh that's good to know. I don't have any offer or visa yet :-[ I just had this question in my mind today & was looking for opinions & suggestions. I'll leave Quebec out of job hunting. Thanks for the information +1
