The opening of file for review is generally first in first out. [size=10pt]BUT, the COMPLETION time of all the required checks and reviews varies for each applicant based on their history.[/size] Hence, MR and PPR aren't always first-come-first serve since those depend on how long it takes for all the checks to be complete for each applicant.

If this is really the case why is it that most late August and early to mid September's applicants are still waiting for MR. Are you suggesting they have similar history or is it a coincidence based on your analogy? The truth is that we can never predict Ottawa, so the best advice is to hang on, wait patiently and hope for the best. We will all reach the same goal, while some will reach theirs faster, others might get there much slower, but we shall all get there. Have fun while waiting the world is not yours.

Today begins with a great news for us.

Expresspost tracker activated last night, and expected delivery is this Saturday. Our passports reached Ottawa on 02/10 for anyone interested.

I've received passport request from CPC-Ottawa but I couldn't do because, I am residing at Saudi Arabia outside North America. Therefore, I forwarded the email to Canadian Embassy - Visa Section at Riyadh .

They replied: You may submit the passports and photos (two per applicant) for you and your family members to our Office through VFS Office in AlKhobar.

Now My question, When I expect receiving of My passport with visa stamp??

Thanks! that clears my mind. Means even if your file was opened 1st, if it needs more verification or pending with something. You might get MR later than the others.

I have sent 3 emails to cpc for notification but they have not replied yet. so , I decided to send dirctly to Riyadh. They replied within 48 hours

I sent FBI PCC request in October and I got my FBI PCC in first week of FEB.
Fortunately CPC did not ask for fresh PCC because I already sent them old FBI PCC along with my application. (almost 1 year old when my application was processed.)

It is going to take 14-16 weeks.
Let CPC know in advance and forward this email if you are running out of time.

My question is why you all waited to apply for FBI PCC.
It just costs $18. You could have all applied it before CPC asked to submit it.

Mailed FBI and got this reply ???:

The current processing time for an FBI Background Check is taking 14-16 weeks to complete from the date the request was received. It can take 10+ weeks for a request to clear our security process before we are able to see the request in our system. At this time, it is too early to see the request(s). If you submitted your request by courier (Fed Ex, UPS, or USPS), please view their website to verify delivery.


Unfortunately, no requests can be expedited at this time due to the amount of work. Please be sure to supply your full name and address when requesting a status update.

Thanks for enlightening us with this new approach, although im sure that VFS knows how long it well take, however based on my past experience with VFS they take about one week. With fench and British embassy in riyadh.

I called CIC today and asked them if my app reached CPC Ottawa? The agent said it was received today. Does this vo send AOR's? If so when should I expect it? If not when to expect MR? I also added my wife to my application so I am just curious to know if this will delay the process?

This is good news. I'm a little worried because I called CIC and they told me that my file was still at CIO. I just don't know if the agent didn't check properly of if they just forgot to transfer it.

So I just called again and I was told that as of today my file is showing in process at Ottawa. I was told in the past that file transfer began on January 30th. I know Ottawa does not send AORs but since the CIC agents could now see that the file is in process there, could it be an acknowledgement of receipt? It seems that the agents have access to what is similar to GCMS files. I mean for those without an old UCI number who were waiting on their PER in the past, they were able to get it by telephone and that only happened after their file was checked and entered in the system. I'm going to apply the same logic to AOR.
