if you have travelled extensively, they carry out a long security check in those countries you've stayed longer...maybe that's one of the reasons...yes keep your toes crossed hahaha funny

What would be a long stay though?, stayed in Bosnia for about 6 months and Denmark for 10 months. Most other places a few weeks upto a month so not sure if a couple of weeks upto a month is considered a long stay?

Hi All,

I got a good news to share. I got the email from CPC requesting to send the passports for the VISA stamp.

Here are my details.
Application received: May 04th 2014
IELTS: 7.5 sent with application
CC charged: July 7th, 2014
PER: Aug 13th, 2014
Med Request: Sep 9th, 2014
RPRF Request: Sep 9th, 2014
Med Done: Nov 6th, 2014
FBI received: Jan 5th, 2015.
Passport request: Feb 13th, 2015

I'm residing in US and plan to send the passports through posts as I read many applicants have done the same and where successful. Please suggests if its fine to send the Indian passports to CPC from US.

Any applicant who's passport reached CPC Ottawa around Feb 06 ...??

What's late date who's Tracker got activated... I remember was Passport received Ottawa Feb:2 and Tracker got activated Feb: 10 ..?? Any reports after that .??

Dear goodgreen,

Legal Option:
1) Ask CPC-O to make arrngements to stamp your VISA at NDVO and explain your situation.
this does not mean your file is being transferred. They generate VISA counterfoil & COPR at NDVO and affix to u r passsport.
It may consume again 2-3 months to complete the process. If you have that much time in hand, you can proceed.

Smart Option:
1) Find a friend who is travling from India to USA (Passports can be sent by perons but not by post)
2) Ask hime send to CPC-O from USA. Once he receives back, he will send it to you by any other party returning from USA to India.

are u sure your file is with cpc ottawa ...are you egyptian it might be in cairo visa office ...you can phone them first and ask about where your application exactly and its progress

In fact I don't know wheather my application is in Cairo or Ottawa.
But call who? Ottawa don't have a land line number and Canadian embassy in Cairo don't answer these queries over phone besides they have been closed since last Dec..... . (BTW, I sent couple of emails to both with no single reply!).

Any suggestions are welcome.

abdallah, call CIO tell them u r egyptian and that the canadian embassy in cairo is closed since long time, and that u want to confirm that ur file has been trasnfered to ottawa as its the secondary visa office, confirm if ur file submitted to primary visa office or the secondary they will tell this information.
