Diplomatru, Evidences do not support you theory that much. If you look at express entry applicants who are processed in Canada by CPC-Ottawa, you would see that they have been receiving PPR regularly (look at the express entry forum). If they were run out of visa no., how could they stamp visa for express entry applicants but not for FSW-2014 applicants! :'(
Because they might have prioritized the whole remaining pool of visa # for EE, which is the only stream that perceives processing under 6 months. What about CEC or PNP applicants whose files are sitting in the registry of CPC-O? Zero movement. They might even have some FSW-2013 files left.

An applicant from another VO who just requires his visa stamped at this offices would naturally experience no difficulties, because they are just printing out a counterfoil with a visa # issued by the CIC station that has finalized his application.

true. i didn't to say anything and disagree with diplo lol.

and another forum member reported that he received his PPR couple weeks ago on this forum from CPC-Ottawa.

it is painful because our life is paused waiting for an email and everyone around us is continuing with their life peacefully and they ask us what r we doing or if our papers are done yet..
Once again, he might be a Nepalese applicant (who is eligible for fast-track) or has some provable H&C case, which requires his expedited entry to Canada (i.e. expiry of US visa and eventual return to his homecountry, say, Iraq, which might not be safe). Clearly, these few cases are not based on FIFO principle and are pulled from the backlog for a reason. Other files are sitting ducks with some applicants having completed meds in April, and there's an explanation for that. I am not saying that this information is 100% accurate but I fail to find any viable explanation otherwise.

Hi guys,

So I repeat my story again here, I appreciate if anyone here could help me with this problem:
I got married on Sep 17 and notified CIC on Oct 5th and got passport request on Oct 9th. I already emailed them that my marital status has changed but my husband is already a PR and I don't want to add him to my application. I also send his documents (copy of pr card and passport to them) when I sent my passport to ottawa, today I received my passport back but my marital status in CoPR is still single. what do you think I should do? should I go ahead and land or should i send back the CoPR with an explanation and ask for a correction?

He is already a PR so the officer was doing u a favor by not making u wait any longer to issue u a new COPR. When u do ur landing, inform the officer and show him or her the email. U should be partying for getting married and u for the visa!

What's your timeline?

Thanks a lot Diplomatru. It is impressive that still you take time to come to the forum and advice people. Blessing ...

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've posted on this thread.

Just wanted to share an update: My ECAS status was updated to Completed couple of weeks ago, and 7th line now says I became a permanent resident on 26 Sept at Vancouver IVR!

I also wanted to share details of my landing experience as I've had few people contacting me about process:

- I landed in Vancouver (despite the fact that I had selected Ontario as my destination in PR application forms)
- Immigration has two stages for landing PRs. I first had entry clearance (passport stamping / visa check) on my Indian passport. Once that is done, you're in Canada by all practical sense. However, you haven't yet activated your Permanent Residence. That will be next step, you'll have to find immigration office within airport arrivals.
- I carried bank statement as proof of funds, however (like almost everyone else I have spoken to) I wasn't asked for any proof of funds. They do ask how much cash you're carrying, however that is ONLY for customs purpose (as you need to declare source if you're carrying over $10,000 anywhere in the world, not just Canada)
- Luckily for me airport was pretty much empty so I had my turn straight away.
- Officer did ask for my address, I informed officer that I am on a short two week trip so he said he will take a friend's address and then my friend can post the card to my address in the UK. I gave a friend's address in Ottawa for delivery of PR card as I informed.
- Then we were asked to wait for a little bit, and that's it! We were given stamped copy of our COPR and we were all set to leave the airport, for us total process took about 20 minutes.

For those traveling to Vancouver, taxis are fixed price, $31 for majority of downtown Vancouver areas and $35 for some downtown, plus 10% tip is customary!

Toronto Pearson is bit further out so taxis will cost about $55 to get to downtown plus 10% tip!

Good luck.

Thanks alot for your reply.but is it normal to add this line 4 months after the email?
That's OK. They have recently started adding lines for applicants whose applications are in process.

Hey guys,
My online status was updated today by
"
We sent you correspondence on July 28, 2015. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required."

july 28th was my baby medical which i have done on augast 1st.i am much worried.what does this mean and how come this status was updated only today?
Thanks alot.
I guess your file is almost closed and ready for visa, then they updated your status on ECAS. That's my personal idea, since I still have three lines on ECAS, and some friends here have more lines with RFV on their GCMS notes. Anyway, my guess 8)

You are most welcome Zooroo!
I am already working on my Citizenship application (although I wil apply in 2019). And this forum has plenty of information pertaining to common mistakes, timelines based on people's experiences. For example, I started organizing all the records (flight itineraries, bills, T4, NOA, health records, etc) to have a well-documented application by the time I can submit it. In the meantime I want all of you guys who have shared the SW boat with me to complete your PR journey, so I am here to help.

do you mean is it possible to ask the CIC to fast process my application if my US visa is going to be expired?

No, it's your problem, unless your country turned into a battlezone or it has been hit by natural disaster and your return there will seriously endanger your life.

So call center told me to send back the CoPR again and asked them to update it. She said there is no mention of marital change in my file which was very strange for her.
She even asked her supervisor to make sure she is giving me the best advice. The supervisor said that I cannot land with with an outdated CoPR all the information in CoPR must be up-to-dated and I must send it back if it is not.

I don't really know what to do.
