I think the call center is limited with respect to their response, unless to check the status of one's application, as they often have to wait on relay message from the CPC-Ottawa. Generally, I will advise that one emails the CPC-Ottawa directly if there arise any concerns, and then follow-up with a phone call.

i noticed one thing that alyno did not get a SLU and got the MR mail stright whereas Kerdek got a SLU and did not get a Mr mail..amazing is the word for CPCO and their working ..!!

A guess here:
I think the eCAS 2nd line updates are totally dependent on the agent working on the case. Some do the SLU as soon as they start working on the application while others just don't bother.

A friend who just went through this process and got his passports back yesterday, his SLU did not show after they acknowledged receipt of his Medical Results and the next day it went to DM. His total process took 13 months. He filed in May 2014, got his PER in July 2014, Request for PCC in January 2015, MR in March, and Passport requests first week of June.

A guess here:
I think the eCAS 2nd line updates are totally dependent on the agent working on the case. Some do the SLU as soon as they start working on the application while others just don't bother.

A friend who just went through this process and got his passports back yesterday, his SLU did not show after they acknowledged receipt of his Medical Results and the next day it went to DM. Yes you are right. It all depends on the officer. There is no specific pattern. But mostly it is action first and then ECAS....

Yes, but he had lived in Saudi and they wanted the PCC. It cost him $1000 to get it in 30 days. Crazy! So that delayed about 2 months in total. He was really worried when he did not hear anything after his PER from middle of July 2014 till mid-January 2015 (6 months). This sounds like a long gap but I myself am about 2/3 of the way there since my PER and there are lot more like me here.

I am done with landing yesterday, drove to Carway the officer tried his best to scare me that I might get sent back home if there is any issues with the paper , even after telling that I have valid work permit and multiple entry visa as well other than my immigration visa, he still emphasized that I should go to CIC office in Calgary. He also mentioned that getting refusal from USA border will effect my future application (he misguided me). Well, my family friend who was driving me suggested to go to Coutts and not to mess with him as he might create issues for me if he is not wiling to do my immigration landing. I wish I'd have noticed that officer's name.

Drove to Coutts, the US border lady officer was very nice to me and I asked her if I wish to apply for USA visa in future , am I gonna answer yes to the question where it says that I have been denied entry to USA and she said NO, this refusal to entry has nothing to do with that formal application. (Unlike Carway Canadian officer who was scaring me that it will be an issue in future, just because he was trying his best to discourage me to do landing at that border and he succeeded) . Well, I went to Canadian border office then, and everything went smooth there too. And back to Calgary Smiley

Did you have to reach the US borders in order to do your landing? Why wouldn't just walk into the border office and say you would like to complete the landing or maybe even just u-turn before you cross the borders? I live in Calgary and most likely i will be doing my landing on the borders.

Btw i have a US visa, but I am just curious to know if there is a way to avoid US borders

Nops, at border, they say you have to get out of Canada that actually means entering the USA border. You have to go to the USA border services.

I am in the same boat. As far as I know the application is still in Sydney since I have not heard anything to the contrary.

The funny thing is that I almost forgot about the application after filling it. It wasn't until I discovered this forum that I have become obsessed with the timeline and can't stop thinking about it. I think I need to take a break from here and just check once every 2 weeks to keep my sanity. I know this place is more like a support group but it's beginning to really bring me down. :'(

Lol..so your feeling unsupported here ..ya I think it's a good idea !! Take a break ..a long weekend is coming next week so I gonna take a vacation for few days clear off my mind
