My RPRF request email says " Admissibility review (security, criminality and/or medical) is still ongoing; you will be contacted if additional information is required for that purpose. " .

So I think they just check the eligibility and document verification before MR and continue criminality and security checks and once everything is clear then you get the PPR. To me it looks like once they verify the eligibility based on documents provided at the VO , then they issue RPRF, PCC request and MR, but may be experts can shed some light here.

Yes waiting & trying to be patient. I've heard that applications may have a 'bring forward date' - will they tell us this date over the phone ?

You can try. But unless its really a friendly agent, they wont tell you i guess.
