This is from my post a few pages back when i received RFV

1. VO: Ottawa
2. Case Applied: 23rd May, 2014
3. PER: 15th Sep, 2014
4. RPRF: 28th Jan, 2015
5. MR: 29th Jan, 2015 (but only for me and not for my two family members, mailed twice but no reply)
6. Medicals Done: 4th Feb, 2015
7. Med Updated: 16th Feb, 2015
8. Applied GCMS: 9th March, 2015 (getting worried about my dependents)
9. GCMS received: 9th April, 2015 (they said they communicated MR for wife and daughter but i didn't receive any. So, mailed them immediately)
10. MR request for daughter: 9th April, 2015 (within two min of me sending the query mail. Still no MR for wife)
11. MR done: 13th April, 2015 (Went ahead and did med for both wife and daughter)
12. Med Proof sent: Same day
13. Med Updated: Still don't know. Called doctor on 22nd but he hadn't done it so far
14. RFV mail rcvd: 24th April, 2015
15. ECAS Status: Still only first two lines.....strange

Looks like the good news anyways. Thanks to people on the forum especially Diplo for your knowledge sharing. Will keep you guys updated.

I assume, you are a DV-lottery participant 747-captain, and May 5 is damn close, so you never know, right?

Actually no Dip I'm not a lottery applicant ...However considering my luck even if all the stars were aligned I probably would lose the lottery!! ;D

...My story is one of, where my parents brought me to this country when I was 7 and it was a long hard road to get their green cards. By the time they got it, I had already reached the age of majority, but my younger brother and sister lucked out as they were still minors and got it on my parents. Subsequently a few years later my parents gave up their green card and returned to India .....and I was "stuck".

I was finally able to apply for PR based on my wife being a US citizen, but because of all the past complications (it took a really really long time with USCIS messing things up, losing my file for 9 years ...yeah it's that unfortunate and incredible!!). Finally due to all the stress etc. me and my wife drifted apart.

We are still on friendly terms, and she is still willing to "stick it out" with me to see it to the end, but I am done with this!!! I'm sick of living in this extended prison (cannot travel outside US till case is done), sick of spending hundreds of thousands of $$$ on lawyers!!!. I'm in my late 30s and don't want to see my life slip away while I fight these battles! That is why, if everything works out right (hopefully, keeps fingers crossed) I am coming to Canada, and hopefully meet all of you nice folks one day!!

I want your advice ONCE AGAIN, please!

Received PPR/RFV on 21st April 2015. I sent an email to CPC-Ottawa requesting for the PR Visas to be issued within US since I unfortunately hold Indian passport. So far -have not received any communication. Should I wait for the next week or so --Say May 5th and if I do not receive the email from Los Angeles Canada Consulate--should I post mine, my family's passports to Canada Ottawa. I have time until May 21st.

I am in the same boat as well. US has definitely given me a lot, but I think I have to respect the fact that Canada loves me and wants me there more than US does. So I have to reciprocate the same feeling.

There is no harm planning. RFV will come soon

Downtown houses are expensive. Areas falling towards west side are good. There are several communities that reside in specific areas also. Honestly, everything will fall in place as times passes. Good luck.

I am glad we have Goku, Diplo and many others who are sharing their updates and experience and this will help us get through this time with a smile

Grace, are you also someone with MIXED feelings like me? ....on the one hand I'm excited at my POTENTIAL (I too don't have my RFV yet) new life full of freedom ...to be able to travel anywhere in the world ....to have a sense of belonging to a place (like I don't have here).

....but on the other hand, I sometimes get extremely depressed to leave the US as well :'(

I am mixed up with my feelings... on the one hand it is such strong feel & desire to feel free without limitations - to go on the vacation finally, to see family finally (kids seeing grandparents, and my home Country etc), apply for a job without limitations etc..., on the after hand it is huge fear that maybe I am asking for too much, I already receive so much, maybe I am greedy that I am asking for more... and I am afraid not to be punished for it in the future that I should stay where I am and appreciate what I have... The only think what is pushing me to go forward are my kids, their future, I want to do all what I can to give them better life & possibilities than I had...

e-CAS has a lag of three-four days. If you order GCMS notes now, you'll see that decision is made on the day of RFV letter.

There is a VAC for Canada in Los Angeles (google it), get in contact with them and ask them to call the VO to arrange stamping at their office.

Translator was the first job I had in US, I did it till end of 2009, than I delivered TWINS
After 3 months I went back to work... and stared as bookkeeper (My Bachelor is in Finance & Accounting, Master in Financial Services & Banking) and gradually advanced to Accountant & Tax Prepayer for Businesses & Individuals. Currently working as Senior Accountant at CPA Firm. Studying for CPA Exams (I will not get CPA Certification before leaving US - for that I would need additional 1.5 years stay in US - so I will be trying to get it in Canada) And I would like to work in this field - if that is possible.

Personally, it would be piss me off to leave St Kitts, because I love that I can reach any location in 10-15 minutes, unlike the big cities. So, my first priority is finding a job here. But then again, it all depends on your type of occupation.

Maybe after getting PR I should start sending Resume and see where I can get the job and based on this choose place to live..?

I live in Chicago - or I should say in the suburb City West of Chicago I started my journey in US in Chicago but later moved out. There are 5 of us, so renting something in Toronto I assume would be very expensive :-X
I have no idea which way to go, which suburbs are OK, schools, jobs etc.... maybe I am going too far, since I didn't even get RFV email :-\

I am not hungry for money, and I am not in love with Big City. I live here in the City located roughly 28 miles (45 km) northwest of the Chicago Loop, the city has a total population of 74,000 and that is good enough for me to live here. I don't work in the same city I have to drive and in the morning takes me to get to work 30 minutes, back home after work takes 1 hour

In Canada I would like to work as Accountant, I would be happy to work in small or medium City so I can have some time to enjoy live

I live in Chicago suburb too.I am in Des Plaines and based on your description looks like you are in Shaumberg . I am also waiting for PPR.Hope all of us get it this week.
