No, let's call them permanent residents like CIC does.

A permanent resident is someone who has been given permanent resident status by immigrating to Canada, but is not a Canadian citizen. Permanent residents are citizens of other countries.

If someone comes to Canada to commit a crime or leave the country and fails to maintain the residency requirement it's better to stay in their own country. I don't think any of us in this forum will fall under this class of people! We are all here to STAY!

Ok I see. BTW Canadian Citizenship can also be revoked(in extreme circumstances) only if you are dual Citizenship holder.

Yes, which is actually pretty bizarre (introducing a second layer to Citizenship) and is currently being contested in courts.

lol Take it easy Diplo, I know the difference between Canadian Citizen and PR, It's good to make people at the last stage of their PR application happy by calling them Canadian, doesn't hurt anyone!

Do a research on what percentage of PRs have been rejected for citizenship, The likelihood is so remote for a genuine person who is planning to stay in this country and don't commit a crime!

This was not my point, although such instances happen all the time. Especially when PR holders cheat with RO to apply for citizenship.

My application has been received on 20th Oct in FSW3 category. I still waiting for 2 line update... should I call to CIC ? Why CIC takes so much time for FSW3 ?

Believing does not require proof. Our universe is so large that some believe that it's inhabited by other sentient species. Does it lead to the assumption that extraterrestrial life exists? No, it doesn't. If you ask a Canadian about your status, they will call you an immigrant, which is what a PR holder is until he naturalizes and becomes a Canadian. Easy as that.
