VISA ISSUED! JUST GOT MY PASSPORT!


Friends,
I just left VISA OFFICE São Paulo here in Brazil with my passport and Confirmation of Permanent Residence in hands. This is a very exciting day and a true dream come true to me. I've been dreaming about Canadian immigration for 6 years now.

Thank you all SO MUCH for all the support, questions answered and all the help.

I'm going to Canada next week to visit a few friends. I hope this information is useful to other people: I've recently gotten a MULTIPLE ENTRIES VISITOR visa for Canada, this visa was issued a couple of weeks ago. When my immigration visa got issued, THEY DID NOT CANCEL my visitor visa. This means I can still land in Canada next week as a visitor and I WON'T HAVE TO DO THE IMMIGRANT LANDING PROCEDURES. This information was provided to me by an officer at the VO here in Brazil. She said all I have to do is show my Visitor visa when entering Canada. In case the immigration officer sees my Immigration visa all I have to do is let him know I'm currently visiting the country and will do my landing afterwards. No worries about that. My this information be of use to everyone in the forum!

Here's my timeline:

NOC 1123
Application at CIO: August 27th 2014
CC Charged: November 21st 2014
PER: December 14th 2014
Medical Request: December 30th 2014
Medicals Done: January 15th 2015
RPRF and Passport Request: January 19th 2015
Visa Issued: January 27th 2015

Total time of 5 months for the whole process.
Lightning fast!

Awesome buddy, wish we all had given São Paulo, Brazil as our VO. This waiting game is a killer. Daily visiting forum and checking ECAS has become the norm of the day. My PER was received on 8th December, been 51 days. No news after that

And this is what my Consultant says:

1. Once received the file number, you'll be getting an email for Medicals and PCC within 30 days and at the maximum 90 days.

2. Once you get the Medicals request from Visa office, then, you'll be having timeline of 60 days to submit the required documents.

3. In return CIC will be sending the passport request in minimum 30 days and maximum within 90 days.

So, please do not worry if maximum time crosses, then we can send our query to CIC or visa office selected. Process may get delayed, but totally it will not be stopped.

Hello Everyone

This is my first post but honestly speaking I have been diligently following your threads. So, thought of updating my status. I hope it will help others

My husband's immigration application was received at the Ottawa processing center on August 15,2014. He finally got a notification or the PER mail on December 3rd, 2014. On January 28,2015 he got email regarding the medical request and other documents.

Till now journey has been good. Keeping our fingers crosses.

This is my husbands third attempt . In the first attempt(2012) the cap got filled. In the second attempt he forgot to include my details in the application(2013) so the packet was returned. Finally for the third attempt(2014) we hired a lawyer. It paid off till now.

Aug 18th applicant
Reason: Cap fill

My package was posted on 18th Nov 2014 by CIC. So it almost took 70days to reach.

Expect MR since NDVO does not give AOR..

Currently MR's are randomly given to June and some July applicants. Your turn will come..

Thanks dmac11. There is a small issue. In ECAS, it is showing Philippines instated of India. Also the Snail mail has Philippines instead of India in the address. What should I do in such case?

Oh, i haven't come across with this situation before. In which part of ecas your seeing the Philippines? Co'z as i remember clearly, my ecas shows my residential address and my name. It does not state the VO country name..

Where are you from and currently residing, if i may ask?

My name and address are correctly showing, However, in the address the country is showing as Philippines. At present only 1st line is updated. I live in Mumbai, India. I am wondering how the snail mail reached perfectly at my place. apart from country name the remaining address is perfect

I see, i believe it is a matter of typographical mistake from CIC side. I suggest you can send an email highlighting this issue to your local VO which is NDVO. I believe you can refer to your PER, which you will find their email address..
