You both can live there and search for jobs. My brother is already there in Canada. Once you land there, register yourself with the appropriate authorities and you start getting unemployment benefit until you get the job. Just one suggestion - if there are not many jobs available in your line, get the first job that you get and then keep trying for the job of your choice cos the amount you get from the government may not be enough. Moreover, if the family is together, it is always better

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Its the first time i heard that there will be unemployment benefit for PR's? Can you elaborate more, coz i was really thinking that when we first land in Canada. Our only support is our Settlement funds that we are bringing.

Thanks for your response. Yes, that's one thing most of us are looking forward that in terms of healthcare we are supported by the government, as well as education for our kids until highschool (secondary studies) are free. That is why, locals and PR's don't hesitate on paying taxes, since it's well distributed and managed.

You can claim if you meet the following coditions.

You can apply for EI benefits if you have paid into the EI account and you are unemployed.

You can receive regular benefits if you lost your job through no fault of your own, for example, due to shortage of work, seasonal or mass lay-offs.

# You can receive compassionate care benefits if you have to be away from work temporarily to provide care or support to a family member who is gravely ill with a significant risk of death.

# You can receive fishing benefits if you are a person engaged in fishing

# You can also receive maternity, parental and/or sickness benefits if pregnant, caring for a newborn or adopted child or sick.

However donot expect any benefits until you have worked and contributed.Many people understand they can apply for this benefit soon after landing in Canada.Thats a wrong conception.

Dear friends,

Got PER and a story to share which kept me tensed for a long time. To cut long story short, my PER email was received on 3rd of Dec but was with my consultant and one of the executives who was responsible for sending it to me didn't send it.

So here is timeline

Application received: 13th Aug
DD charged: 18th Nov (As per Bank)
: 10th Nov (as per cic)
PER email sent: 3rd Dec

My heartiest thanks to all forum-friends, especially, dmac11, parrys198, PGS77, mr.gk, determination,yogeshladani,pandu123,immigcan81,skepar, who helped me to keep my calm in last 25 days.

CIO follows the date of application received pattern but they give priority to NOC what about to reach cap...in your case, your PER must come anytime.

friends,
I would like to know following information. I see it is 1year validity of visa before which we have to land in dream land.
further more i have following queries.
1. My wife is applicant and i am co applicant and both of us are working. we have to apply my wife as applicant to qualify. This is why we applied on NOC 2132.
Now once the visa is granted both of us have to travel for first time to get the PR card and other formalities to be finished right.
The plan is i wanted to stay back and search for jobs and my wife will return back to India to continue supporting me until i get a job there and settle down with reasonable finance to bring the family.
1. To work out this plan the applicant can return and co applicant can search for job and work right?
2. If that is ok, then how long the applicant has to stay in canada before returning.
3. what are the formalities to be completed before applicant return back. How long this will take to complete.
4. I have children, they also can return back along with my wife until i settle in canada they can join me..what formalities to be completed for children.
5. From the children's point of view of their academics, what is the good time the children to be brought to canada to start their academics..
Experts or the people who are already living can advise all of them,,,so that i can chart out a plan for moving.
