Thx mate for the the useful and confidence boosting post.perseverence said:Hi friends,
It's been some time since my last status update. Good to see that lot of friends are going to soon join us in Canada. It is beautiful now a days here, with intermittent snow fall and festival mood.
We can say that we are now almost fully settled with both having regular jobs, having moved in a new house with new furniture put in and having our cars - the three major struggles of settling in Canada seems to be achieved now.
I am not writing this to boast about myself or anything, this is to boost confidence in friends who feel doubtful about settling process over here. I think the only people who have lived in countries like US and Australia will find this place a little bit lower to their expectations. Other than that its nice to be here. You got to embrace the short comings and learn to deal with the culture here.
Initial few months are slight stressful but every one gets past it.
All the best for friends who are in process of landing or getting their PR. Next year seems to be even better with minister announcing faster track (they do every year ) for processing apps.

It's really heartening to see that you have settled in and got all the resources in place. Please, if time permits you, share with us where u settled in and something on your job hunting strategy.
Best Regards
Amit
Thx for responding to me mate. I hope that my application receives a positive attention, as u never know with Canada Officersperseverence said:Dear Amit,
We landed and settled in GTA area. It was shocking to see so many people from India here. Brampton is like mini-Punjab. You can get things here which are hard to get in India as well .
The strategy I used was simple ;;; focus initial weeks in getting settled - documentation, apply for PR cards, driving license, find rental place, move in, buy car so we can move around, get insurance, get phones, bank accounts etc. All this took first 3-4 weeks. Then I focussed my self on getting a job. Bought a printer, scanner and started applying on indeed.ca and other job portals. Started getting calls in couple of weeks and then I appeared for 3-4 interviews and finalized on one considering travel time. So, in 6th week I started my job. Once I got settled, my wife started looking and she got hers in 3rd month. Then was our focus on buying a house and that happened in 4th month. Before closing we bought another car and life seems to be on track now in comfort of own home - considering the cold temperatures.
All the best..
In my opinion - you should get the regional language certificate translated into English and get it notarized.sdosanjh said:Guys, my DOB is Aug-1978.
And i am getting "Not Found" as my birth certificate in Civil hospital
it will be given in regional language, later i have to notorized it
Will that work out?

Also, you should submit an alternative proof of date of birth like your Secondary School Passing Certificate. You may also submit an affidavit along with it.
All the documents in any language other than English should be translated to English and notarized. Don't send your regional language documents without translation.
Moreover.... HURRY!!! You must dispatch your application by 15th to be on a safer timeline for FSW 2014.
