Hi All,

i am planning to move to Canada- Toronto in early june 2015. Looking your help on below:


1. What is the best method to bring funds from India to Toronto? open an account with Scotia bank in India. search for its StartRight program
2. Can i open a bank account in Toronto from India well in advance? if yes- how? see the above reply
3. Which bank should i opt? In India you can open account in Scotia bank. refer reply in 1 above.
4. initially which insurance should i opt for my family. Oh man, do your research please. ICICI/HDFC whatever suits your bill. Alternatively, you can buy insurance after landing in Canada. Heard that claim process is smooth for latter
5. Pl suggest 1 BHK House/Flat/Apartment with good accessibility to bank, bus, hospital, grocery shops. From my limited knowledge I can say that 1 BHK would cost you around 1200 CAD. The answer depends on your budget. For location someone already in Toronto can reply better
6. how i can rent/book accommodation before my travel? Seems you have done no research, no search. There are many sites - Kijiji.com,Craiglist.com etc. but, it is advisable not to rent a house from India before seeing the accomodation. Best would be to land in Toronto in a short term service appartment such as studio6 or safehomestay, and then search.

Please look in the website you applied PCC . maybe there will be an option .
If you are not currently in newzeland .ask you friends to walk into a police station in NZ and get it done for you .

And he can send that hardcopy to you .
Do send him details of your stay and visa papers copy of your visit .

One thing to mention here is that NZ PCC is for my husband n im the primary applicant. Will that b same process for dependants PCC?

MAY 5TH applicant and I still haven't received my medical request.
They started processing on Sept 8th as per my ECAS. No updates since then.

Are they even functioning?
