Go for first option as NDVO takes a long time to respond for visa stamping at a different VO and you already have received PPR.

@bhavcaluk - Thanks!

Is it legal to send passport to India along with my wife? What of Indian customs discovers later on that I got visa in absentia? Could it be a problem?

@ dharam - how many working days did NDVO take to stamp your passport?

4 working days.

Hey Friends:

I am in US, but my VO is NDVO. Is it legal to send passport to India with my spouse, along with authority letter?

What if Indian customs find out later on that I got visa in absentia from Delhi while I was in US?

Should I ask them by sending an email on specifically which travel or my foreign stays they have doubt. how long they gonna take to respond me in this case. Or should I only send them email with all documents. What do you recommend. ?

do ask them what they are specifically asking for, but at the same time, also send all docs from your side to prove your point that you haven't given wrong info.

Read instruction on second last page of Indian passport (2nd OR 4th point I guess). If Indian customs discover they will seize your passport it found without proper authorization to carry it.

WOW !!!!! Congratulations brother !!!!

I too can expect PPR anytime now ;D

I think it is not permitted through courier. You are sending through a authorisation letter with wife. The letter has to addressed to VFS in india(city). You will need 2 authorisation letters one for submission and one for collection.

Hi everybody,

I want to ask if anyone here had experience on getting married after receiving PER? and before getting any AOR from the VO or MR..
Just want to know the Pros and Cons.
Planning to get married next month, and hoping somebody could shed light on what to expect like effect on the application, delays, additional documents needed, when to inform the VO, etc..

hopefully someone could help make this be clearer for me.
Thank You

Hi,

Since, you have already decided to get married......Only GOD will save you.....(On a lighter note).

Regarding Application.....Please note the following:

1. Apply for Marriage Certificate well in advance. Its a very important document these days.
2. Apply for the wife's passport having your name endorsed on it.
3. Since, you have applied as a Principal applicant and if you want to go alone for the time being....there is no issues/delays. However, if you want to add the name of you wife too....then you will have to wait to get married and arrange all the above docs.
4. If you do not include her name now.....but you have to inform VO that you are married now.

I hope this clarifies....Regards.....
